is there software to block websites?

    is there any free or "free" software that blocks websites, btu will not interfere with my zonealarm security suite?

    Try using a host file, this will block sites globally across all browsers. Bit more info on host files here

    ym browser is firefox, and hosts doesnt work for me. when i enter the adress, it doesnt block of the site.

    there is no inbulit website blocker in firefox and i know of no programs that i could recomend for such a thing, soz

    The only time a host file will not work is if you are running through a proxy server, if you are not, then check how you place the entry into the host file, how did you put the entry in to block in your hostfile, was it using a hostfile manager, what IP did you re-direct the site to?
