I have an iso file that I can't open.

If I try to open it in PowerIso I get the invalid or unsupported box.

I have tried ImgBurn, PowerIso, Nero, etc.

ImgBurn & Nero will actually take the file and "burn" it to disk - the process looks normal as the programs read the file and take the usual amount of time to be burning the disk, drive light flashes on / off as normal, but when the session is complete there is no data on the disk, physically there is only what looks like a header.

How can the program be "burning" the disk but not actually doing it?

What can I use to verify that the file is usable in the first place?

Then how can I get the file to burn to disk? or better yet, how can I just open the file without burning to disk so that I can extract the files to hard drive?

here's what IsoBuster had to say -

During mounting of the disc only a session / track layout could be found. No file-systems nor files and folders could be found.

Sounds like you have a bad ISO.
