The following message pops up now.
    iTunes.exe-corrupt File
The file or directory \iPod_Control\iTunes\iTunesPrefs is corrupt and unreadable. Please run Chkdsk utility
I have run the utility numerous times and also have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. I have been able in the past to put songs on the player, but no more. What is up? I did try a new USB card, but it wouldn't read my devices. Any help would be great

I did and eliminated THAT problem, now I am dealing with the updating issue. My ipod will only upload twenty or a hundred or so songs before stopping with the message "Disk could not be read to or from". Sometimes when I plug it in, I see in the progress bar stripes rather than an open space. i.e. nothing is loading.I have tried replacing my USB 2.0 card but that new card cannot recognize the devices plugged into it. So I have a two-pronged problem now.
