    It's a Terratec Aureon 5.1 Sky.

    I paid a little bit more than 50 €.

It can drive my Sennheiser HD 540 Headpones (300 Ohms) without problems, even when turning it up to insane volume I can't hear any noise. I'm very satisfied with the sound. (Currently I'm listening to some 24/96 jazz tracks, extracted from DVD-V, through foobar2000.)

Hopefully I have enough time soon to perform my 24/96 vs. CD resolution test. Most likely I'll add some more test samples and re-do the tutorial (using some .bat files for easier cration of the test files etc.)

FYI: There's a free tool called Rightmark Audio Analyzer
    http://audio.rightmark.org/
It can be used to measure soundcards' in- and output quality, e.g. frequency response, noise level, stereo crosstalk. There's also a forum where results for many good quality - high end soundcards are discussed.

This looks like a superb solution for DVDA playback too! The day that the PC becomes our entire media playback system has just taken a giant leap nearer. There is also a software DVDA player now available to go with this, can't remember for the life of me which one though. Plus you get the 192 playback!
Interesting looking card. Reading the 4G specs, did you also notice the link to Bob Katz website - www.digido.com?
    Looks like a good buy

WinDVD + Creative Audigy 2 is capable of DVD-A high resolution playback. So far this feature isn't available for other soundcards. Digital extraction isn't possible yet though.
Here's an interview "with technical expert Nikki Kang from ESI/Audiotrak" with some interesting details about DVD-A playback on PCs. http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/audiotrak-prodigy71/index.html (bottom of the page).
