I can't seem to find much info here about what to do with a new Droid running the latest updates. I'm interested in rooting it and getting it flashed with a custom Rom (at least I think that's what I need to do), and possibly gaining the ability to run whatever apps I please, as well as get it running a bit faster. Also...hoping I can tether. All the info I find is for version 2.0.1 I believe, and I'm running 2.1, which I assume is different. Help please?

Unfortunately, afterdawn isn't a very good source for mobile stuff. Best to open an account over at mydroidworld.com

There, you can learn how to root your phone. You can also get the "official" Android 2.2 release, as well as flash.
