JVC camcorder film to laptop HELP !

    Hi first of all i am a bit computer thick, but i hava a jvc didgital camcorder model GR-DX97,which has a sd card for stills and a mini dv tape for film and although i have uploaded film from the camera via a usb lead before, for some reason i cant do it now, i have re installed the disc which came with the camera, but for some reason when in real player it cannot find the camera, im sure last time i did it through windows media player, maybe its just me as i said i am computer thicko, so be clear with any help, oh im on windows xp, thanks in advance,

    USB is for stills.
    FIREWIRE is for Video.

    Many Thanks PFLOYD i had been reading some Q and answers and had another look at the instructions as i did have a firewire lead , then noticed where the firewire connected on camera and wayhay, am in buisness, and working with wow xp. moved some video clips onto laptop and now on facebook. got there in the end, but thanks again, a great site, and will probably be back with another difficulty i often get in , DodgyDunk

    No problem. Now get WinDV (not WinDVD) and you will really be in business.
