the titles of senior member and afterdawn addict were initially only given to hand-picked members, back when AD was a smaller site. this was changed to a post-based system after there were so many thousand registered members that single pickings were no longer possible. the system is in constant revision.

yeah, the majority of members want them. however, the majority of members aren't regulars, and most regulars, such as myself, don't care one way or the other, as title *does not matter*.

if drd wanted to, yes, he could. so could ketola or the other admin. however, right now this is the most efficient system for shutting people up. revisions are ongoing, though--don't forget that.

the moderators respect anybody who posts with knowledge and logic whilst obeying the forum rules. rank is completely irrelevant, as even addicts are newbies to some areas of technology. this is a tech forum, not something to forget, either.
