I am new to Linux.Thought I'd have a look at Knoppiix 4.0.2 live cd.
I have a problem when the booting process begins,it gets to a certain point then my 17"HP. lcd monitor showa a black screen with a white rectangle with the message "input signal out of range-change setting to 1280x1024-60hz".
This is already the setting.I've tried a combo. of other rezs. but to no avail.
    Any idea's please?

Try the newest version of Knoppix 5.0.1 and see if that makes a difference. If not, post back and I'll give you a mailing list address that the author subscribes to and you can ask direct.

Contact Klaus Knopper at this address:

You might have to first subscribe to the mail list. Don't worry, it isn't a lot of traffic.
