lmao you really don't have a clue do you? Why bother coming on here looking for advice if you're going to ignore it all?

I seriously don't understand why everyone has such a problem with me not wanting to give £160 to a guy I don't know on Facebook.

I was looking for a real reseller, from a real company. And I found one on my own.

I thanked the people who took the time to give their advice, as it was appreciated. But I don't appreciate the snide little non-constructive comments from people who's advice I found to be hypocritical or flawed. Get over yourselves, it's nothing personal, I just don't want to trade with the guy.

Just because I came on here looking for advice it doesn't mean I have to follow it if I think the advice is bad. It would be rather stupid of me to blindly follow what someone told me without researching it first, wouldn't it?

Like hooter007 said; "buy from a reputable dealer". But I think our definition of "reputable" differs somewhat. After all, Reputation is not based on the individual, but the people evaluating that individual.

Having been a member of Afterdawn since 2007, I respected the opinion of most of the regular posters on this forum. I've always been impressed with the lengths people have been willing to go to help out people (e45, in fact, being a prime example of someone who has gone above and beyond to help people).

However, I can't help but feel a little disappointed in the reaction of these same people when someone finds their opinion or advice questionable. I would have hoped you'd all have respected my reasons for being weary of spending what I consider to be quite a lot of money on someone who is completely unknown to me and, as I pointed out in previous replies, has no selling credentials at all.

Rather than sympathising, you've decided to take the piss, or sprout off fabricated make-believe stories about VM's team of eBay stormtroopers who'll decend upon my house if I buy from eBay (okay, so I exaggerated a little, but the point remains the same).

I'll reiterate that I do appreciate the advice that you've given regarding iConnect. And like I've again said in a previous reply, I'm sure that my reservations about the guy will prove to be unfounded when one of you who have traded with him have a problem and he keeps to his word and fixes it.

However, personally, I would feel much better trading with an established, official business (which is what I was looking for when I posted this thread, and what I found on my own after doing so). And I would ask you to respect this, instead of bumping this thread with childish little comments.

@e45; I apologise for the comments directed at you in my previous replies. But after having a lot of respect for you before posting this thread, you really did reverse my opinion with your complete lack of regard for my reasons for not wanting to trade with iConnect. Instead of understanding and sympathising with my point, you decided to belittle me.

I have nothing against you, I do think you're a stand-up guy who does a lot for the scene on these boards. However, considering the fact that I do have a lot of knowledge in the particular subject of discussion (distance selling, warranties, buyer protection policies etc), I found in incredibly aggravating that you dismissed my explanation of the reasons behind why I didn't want to trade with iConnect as me "talking out of my arse", which invoked the reaction thus.

This will be my last post on the matter (I know I said that before, but people insisted on replying). I would appreciate it if you'd let this thread die.
