so guys, an update to my saga. moved into apt tonight and plugged my kryptview in and scanned the n|t port. nothing found so I am guessing I am gonna have to order the u pee cee basic package.

my question now is...
when i go to the u pee cee website, the services available for my address/area are digital or digital+.

1. So am I gonna have to order digital from u pee cee or will they let me order analog?

2. will my kryptview work with digital?

3. if not, do I ask u pee cee specifically for their analog service? will they ask why?

The Basic Digital package, is what you need boxes do not work on analogue, as they are digital receivers.

 

I presume you are getting your standard 19 channels through the point, as far as im concerned going on my experience with the rental home in Dublin , you should be able to pick up all channels on your box, there is no need to order any digital package.
The box photo you showed was the same in that home. Try rescanning the box following the steps on these pages some where.

guys, firstly thank you all for your help and replies. Unfortunately as is often the case with forums, there is conflicting advice.

Firstly you are saying that I need to get the basic digital package as the box does not receive analog. BUT - I was using the box to pick up old mmds in near galway, is that not analog ???

2. Some of you are saying that I definately need to order ther basic package form u pee cee and some are saying that I do not. Can you clarify this for me ?? (I put the box on the n|l point in the apt last night and tried an autoscan (new firmware). If came up with nothing.

Ok first off, if you where on n$$ mmds your box will work in Dublin except, if they are using there own system in that complex which well could be, you would need to find that out first, did you try plugging the tv cable direct into your tv, if you do not get any channels the chances are that your cable is not connected, so you will need to get the basic package from them, then you can connect your box to it after that.

I have tried plugging wall box straight into tv, scanned tv on all uhf and vhf - nothing.

I then reconnected kryptview to wall box and searching / scanning. Signal strength is showing at 56-60 but signal quality is 0. Scans/searches/tp scans etc are finding nothing.

Does this mean the n|l wall box is dead and I have to order the basic package from u pee cee ?

ahh, update

I discovered the distribution box downstairs. Our apt cable was disconnected there. The only prob is that there is no spare port to screw the f-connector into. The box has 8 ports, 6 are in use and the two spares have some kind of looking nuts on them. I pulled some other apt out and plugged ours in temporarily and it worked fine.

Has anyone come across these locking nuts before, about an inch long and just spin on the thread. Is there any way of getting one off so that I can plug in our apt cable ???

 

Yes mate they are anti theft cable devices, you need to either get them off by what ever means you like, or pay a sub to n$$ up to you.

 

Or stick a splitter onto one of the unlocked ones!!

Hi guys
just got a kryptview installed the software but i am only picking up a couple of channels where have i gone wrong. I done a full search automatically and searched all. is this correct or should i do the four options seperately

Howaya lads. Some of the channels on the box go awry at times. They go all crackly and distorted. I've tried a re-scan but they still do the same. This isn't all the time but it happens often enough to be annoying.

Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.

 

thats your feed coming in, happens to all boxs, if the signal level drops or there is a problem, it will effect you
