KRYPTVIEW A750

Thanks Stephen, I tried that many times, i might try using the laptop,it can't be much worse, i loaded two other boxes no problem.
All help most welcome.

 

changed to an older laptop via the cable did same as in the tut and it worked first time.

 

Got 3 kryptview boxes delivered last Thursday and all successfully uploaded with new software.... bar one !! Looking through the threads I have yet to find a solution. Tried the "timing of the on/off button is vital" method at the back of the box but to no avail. Me thinks there may be a few faulty boxes floating around. I contacted the supplier in the UK and he said he would replace if I could not get it to work. The other boxes are all working fine and uploades within 30 seconds from my desktop PC which has windows XP. The remote seems to be working slightly better with the 120709 firmware.

 

Anyone??

 

is there splitters been used for other tv's to work in your house
check your cable connections
also a booster box may help if your signal strength is low that another reason you are not getting the channels in proper

 

Hi hooter tanx for your reply, but i'm not using any splitter and the cable connection seems ok. I tried a signal booster before with a EV box i had when a few channels went on that, but to no avail, new software sorted that out, but i'm using the most recent sw for the Kryptview so i dont know, it is annoying!!

 

Im thinking of purchaseing one or two box's so how much longer can i expect to get b4 it runs obselete.Whats the general idea from you goodguys that have been keeping up todate on all this n1 n2 n3 nthell tech stuff is there any body that can please give an educated guess going on the news they've been receiving of late.

my guess is i buy it this week and as soon as bang its over well as soon as the footie season starts.Whats your guess guys.

 

Stephen, I have tried the laptop, but no joy, I will try and get another PC from someone, any other ideas.

Hey guys does anyone know where i could pick up a RS232 USB adapter, have two laptops and a pc here and not a single RS232 port!! I have seen them online but i'll be waiting quite a few days to get it.

 

you need a usb to serial cable, maplin, blanch or dublin city.

Is it worth updating firmware for the remote? Is the performance that much better that makes flashing it worthwhile when the box is running well tv wise at the moment. I am using the remote from the previous incarnation of the kv with a750 box.

melvin8r,Its always a good idea to update with latest firmware.This firmware has up to 5[i think]improvements that will aid your box in its performance,the R/C is one that you will notice immediately,but if as you say you are useing the remote of the first model then that remote should be ok as other members have said it was working perfectly.But yes i think you should still update with the latest firmware.

Hi, recieved new kryptview A750 last friday. flashed with 19032009. all worked fine except it keeps freezing about every 10 mins for a couple of seconds which gets very annoying. reflashed with 12072007 to see if this helped but it did not. all channels working except adult channels (SCRAMBLED OR NO VIDEO). would be very greatful if anybody has soloution.

 

Pierre, You say you have flashed 2 boxes OK. Why don't you try to flash from one of the good boxes to the box that wont flash. It's easy enough.
Connect the (good), flashed box to the TV
Connect the 2 boxes with the RS232 cable,
Turn off the one to be flashed,with the switch at the back
On the flashed box press Menu on the remote
Then Installation
Then enter password , 0000, (unless you have changed it)
Then Data Download
Select S/W transfer
Hit send then turn on the box that you want to flash
Should start straight away , Wait for download complete.

 

maybe theres a weak signal make sure there is good connections on your cable as for the adult channels they dont come on until after 10 i think

 

hi fergus just bought a kryptview a750.not sure how to get it up and running apoligies in advance but im not very good with computers but i believe there is some kind of software/firmware you have to put onto it to get it working.would really appreciate if you could help me.where to get software/firmware and how to go about putting it onto the kryptview box. cheers
