Thanks Mickah, have ordered plugs will await and see. Any response re routers if pals have not got one?
you need a router for em to work, so they would need to buy one for the box to work, see if you can get one with more than port on it, that way you can connect two things at once
Thanks again Mickah, e45 & sam_c will await delivery of plugs. And let you know how i get on, cheers.
Sorry for confusing you. No I have just only bought the belkin plugs. The first link was a google search link for home plugs it was just a coincidence that the netgear was on the top of the results. There was others also in the results, I wanted to show you a list of options for home plugs in my first link not just the one I bought. Please do let me know how you get on with the plug, which one did you get was it the Netgear? I need to get more plugs for friends & family so it would be nice to know how you get on.
Hi, Just to let you know i ordered the Solwise pair in the link you sent me the other day, looked at the belkin one but were out of stock, so will se how i get on with these one, will let you know soon as i am hopefully up and running if not, will be back on here to pick your brains!
You could of got the belkin from anywhere ebuyer, overclockers, dabs just to name a few places. Amazon weren't the only place to buy them from Im addicted to brand names
Just to let you know i am all up & running, did not have to use the disc that come Solwise Plugs working ok + if anyone orders some you do get a bit cable to plug into the switch included. Regards the RTE(Ireland) channels though they are up on the listings i take it you will only get these if your a resident in Ireland or will we be getting them here? Thanks again for all the advice, excellent!
Net ID is this in my case Oxford, when i was connecting box to pc the only area come up was my area Oxford, which i presume is the rite one, another pal who has just got one also told me he has RTE as well but no pictures, so if i have done wrong can i get it anyway? Thanks for the PM as well, i will forward it on to my pal.
Ok the ones you see are for Northern Ireland so i would say you will not be able to view these but could be wrong i have been told they are there now but not active also on oxford there are 3 net id for your area all are on NTL platform 00020 00020 00013
Hi again, have noticed (well the wife has!!!) that the picture seems to be 'freezing' pretty often, and message sometimes comes up as well saying channel 'scrambled'. I checked the leads were all pushed in ok, anyone else have the same problem as me? Would this have anything to do with the Solwise plugs?
could be are they conected direct to wall or ext lead can also be down to your cable feed if its split what is your signal and quality like on a channel % wise ??
Virgin Cable connected straight into box, both solwise plugs are connected to extension leads, one has 4 plugs, tv, box, solwise plug, wii. While upstairs i have a tower with protection for pc, this has router, pc, monitor, solwise plug, printer. Re signal & quality % well it varies all sly sports for example is s 88 q 86, my wife told me she noticed it more on e4 just tried it now and i have nothing at the moment as the chanel has gone completely and 'scrambled or no video', just tried another chanel by random Brravo and that was s 88 q 96
ok m8 your signal is far to high 88 is to high 75/80% is correct get an antunuator on your cable line and that should hopefully sort your problem out
Thanks for advice, i now have to ask what a ANTUNATOR is, and where would i get one, and is this easy to attach and do myself??? To att ach this to the cable line, you mean the viirgin cable that fits into the back of the box?
