the closet is fine very useful i found, also if you have your scart lead on say ext 1 or av1 that is the rgb output, try that and also make sure your box is also on rgb or you can try cvbs, try both of them and see which works best for you.

Having problems with new krptview box. Trying to upload new bin file 120709 software on to it but the pop up window "downloading is not requested" keeps coming up on the screen. Have sucessfully upgraded three other boxes for friends earlier today as I am the only punter with the null modem cable ! but this one is making me melt. Any suggestions out there to what may be the problem or is it best to get in touch with the supplier. The new software has made the remote more responsive. Talk to me people...!

Have windows XP on the desk top PC and have managed to upload the bin file on three boxes yesterday. All boxes delivered yesterday morning at the same time but still having the upload problem on the one box. Tried again this morning but still no joy. I think a call to the supplier is in order. I will keep you informed of any progress.

I was hours trying it on vista, tried it on an old windows 98 this morning and it worked a dream - all set up now. Mine had a com port built in sometimes those usb - com ports are a bit dodgy. You may have a faulty box though if all the others worked.

Been trying to flash this box here this afternoon and i think i may have a standard RD232 cable as opposed to a null modem cable. Is there anyway to check this for certain.

The error message i get from the Kryptview loader is as follows. I've checked the comm port, its connected through a USB Serial adapter and its looking in the right port and the settings appear to be correct.

    ---------------------------
    STB Editor
    ---------------------------
    Can't open serial portCom4
Please check if the com port has the following parameters.
    Baudrate : 115200bps
    Parity: no parity
    Databyte : 8 bit/data
    Stop bit : 1

    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

    Hi there,
First of all as this is my first post I just want to thank all the helpful people on this site - especially the experts. I have used this site for a couple of years now and never needed to post anything as all the information was there. Anyways I have flashed a few Kryptview boxes and all were fine but I have having problems with one. It seems to be the same problem that others have had on here. It keeps coming up with the download is not requested. Im using windows xp and I know I have it connected to the correct port ect. I just wondering if anyone had any luck resolving their problems with flashing. Especially those of you who have flashed a couple and it was just one that gave you trouble. Is there a master reset on these boxes? Not the factory restore. I was thinking of masters resetting it and then trying again to see if that would do any good. Any ideas would be great?
