Have scanned from this point on this box & my old euuurovox without problems before, i have 2 points in my house both put in by virrrginn years ago, so not sure which would be a 'direct feed' box was working all ok, apart from the freezing on the ci channel that i was watching last night, just thought i would 'factory default' and do an autosearch but as i have said before, i scan it on the net id (ntl) but i cannot exit out of the installation page after it, again it shows 'already exist' but but no channels show on the left hand side of page, it just states 'complete/exit' which i then try to do, but it will not let me exit out of 'installation' page, i turn it off by the mains then back on and 'installation' page comes up. I cannot get rid of it!

think what he means is, just before you scan for channels it gives a list of locations, your local net id, manchester, liverpool, teeside or whatever you click yours then scan.

    Hi

Hi have flashed box again & done a s/w update and still no joy, i go into 'easy installation' and select autosearch-ok, then this takes me to 'automatic search' page, i select NTL for my Network ID, I have previously in the past get a small list of Oxford id's, but not now, just a line of 'already exist' 7/8 times, then i get the screen with 2 sides one for tv and one for radio channels, but normally in the past channels you would see scroll up on list, but nothing again, this will take me less than 5 mins to do all this, at the end it will say Complete/Exit, which i do it then exits back to EASY INSTALLATION page.

Have took the box downstairs and tried it where my other box is working, and this does the same.

what file did you use for flashing?did you try other providers before scanning, try this remove lan go to the strongest main coaxial feed.factory reset and power off box at rear for a min then on and auto scan again,if your signal is poor maybe skipping channels.

The file i used was the Jan one, and i did a s/w update on that, there was something somewhere on here or another thread saying to do/use that, never had a problem flashing others before, and scanning for channels.
When you say 'did you try other providers' not sure what you meant, you mean NTL? That was the only one i used and have done so all along.

Just another thing, when i have flashed the box before i had the ethernet plugs plugged in and on still, obviously not plugged into the box, they were connected to the router and still on.

when you scan have you tried with box just connected to the wall outlet, no splitters or connected to modem or router, then after scan connect back up to modem and router.

Right, disconnected router connection from upstairs, took box downstairs, plugged in mains lead and virrrginn cable, left ethernet cable out, done a autosearch........but comes back to installation page, same old messages when scanning autosearch 'already exist' also noticed when you get the page where tv & radio lists are suppose to scroll up as they are added, at the bottom of the page the TP is 1/8 but comes up to 8/8 again this whole process takes 5 minutes, when normally getting all channels takes a lot longer.

How do i delete clear EVERYTHING on the box and flash the box again?

As stated before i always used to get a Oxford in the list (where i am) but i dont get it, just 'already exist'

Thanks anyway for trying to help me, Mickah where are you mate i need your expertise?

Well today my CI channel is working perfect, no freezing nothing, have had the odd sport channel on and picture was freezing more often than normal, so having read on other threads KV getting worse, am not sure.

So Mickah if you read this, help me please? Got fed up last week with all the freezing of pictures, i thought i would do a factory reset/default, and all i have now is the 'installation' page tried autosearch, with router plugs in & out, re-scanned, flashed box again, but still no joy, my id area Oxford does not come up on id list, no channels scroll up on the tv & radio page when doing autosearch, keeps telling me 'already exist' and when complete/exit, it just takes me back to INSTALLATION PAGE! Have tried this downstairs where other box is working all ok, as well as upstairs where this was working till i done a factory/default reset!

Really frustrated as have a feeling it is something really basic, (obviously not that basic to me) to someone who is clued up on these boxes/technology.

how did you flash the kv was it with a null modem cable and pc with xp and serial port, the reason i ask this is we were having trouble with another kv and could not get it to work as he was using a usb adapter.
are you 100 % sure you have the 780 file and not the 750 file which is different.
lan is removed for scanning, try changing provider to see if it gives a net id.

Hi I flashed it with a Null Modem Cable with a USB adaptor as i have used before, my pc is Windows Vista, and the file i used is kryptview_a780_03012011 which i have saved since i last used it.
When you say change provider, you mean just to view to see what it gives me, or try? Please elaborate more clearly for me....not to clever re using PC's.

What am i suppose to be looking at from the 4 pages? I have loaded/flashed boxes before no prob's, but seem to be having probs with this, not sure if you read previous messages, i was getting fed up with all the freezing of the picture, so lying in bed 2am in the morn decided to factory/reset, done that and since then can not get out of installation page, flashed the box all ok, tried it upstairs/downstairs, with/without ethernet plugs plugged in, autosearch takes less than 5 mins to do, just get 'already exist' all the time, before i have my id area of Oxford on the screen this does not come up just 'already exist'

first of all firmware should be 24042011,if you have not done a s/w update try that first then factory reset and autoscan.the reason i asked about flashing with usb adapters they can be faulty,do you have a m8 with an old xp pc and serial port and null modem cable i would reflash it that way then you know its done correctly.
changing provider from ntl-tw in case some thing has changed,it shows you in that utube video.

Hi, where is a link for the 24042011 firmware, time permitting if i can get it somewhere, i will try again, away on hols saturday, as before i have flashed my boxes previous with the same cable, firmware could be wrong i dont know, until i get the version you mentioned then will try again, what is m8 complete clueless on what your aking re this?
And when i have flashed it recently it tells me 'download success' could be the wrong firmware, though i have s/w updated this?
And are you saying try telewest instead of ntl, you mean just enter 'telewest' as id provider, and not ringing them up to change over to them, dont think they exist in Oxford area.
