@timberlou, Yes, I copied Fantastic 4 no problem. Unless I run into a problem disc, I only use DVDShirnk with AnyDVD running and burn with Nero. I simply place the Movie in my DVD Reader and a blank Verbatim in my Burner and tell Shrink to burn with Nero. NO Fuss, NO Muss, and a quality disc pops out….. Yes, I have copied Movies to CD using IntervideoDVDCopy in Divx but the quality is lower than whale crap! Think about it, you’re not really compressing a 4GB movie to fit on a 700MB disc, what your doing is cutting, and deleting 1’s and 0’s and what you’re left with is not very desirable……….. Hang in there, play with it and after several hundred coasters you’ll find the right combination and technique, just like I did…….LOL
that is what i thought the cd would be to small i just got anydvd and clone dvd and they work great i did not know i could use just anydvd and shrink alone i have to give it a shot thanks
@timberlou, I don’t usually make changes that were not meant to be. I’m getting 2Old for that Geek crap and I feel like “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” I prefer the Full Screen over the Wide so, I always buy the full screen version or one that has both.. My Fantastic 4 is the Full Screen and I just got Sky High and Bad News Bears today and both are Full Screen. BNB can be backed up using DVDShrink Only, with a burner of course, and SH has to have a decrypter running; either AnyDVD or DVD43 will work. I personally like AnyDVD over DVD43 because it updates much sooner. It took 4 months for DVD43 to update this last time.
2old, i thought they were only making widescreen once in a while i saw both in the same disc. i will have to look for the full screen and i am using anydvd now. i had dvd43 and 1 click and dumped both. thanks
@timberlou, Ihave been able to get Full Screen in just about everything I have got for a long time now. Most of the places here are carrying both.. If you have AnyDVD, that's the way to go.... Happy Burning.
2old, I have many back up movies with stick on labels on them. I watched one and it played fine in my standalone DVD player. I then tried to make a copy of it using DVD Decrypter. I used my DVD-Rom drive to read the disk but got read errors. How do you set DVD Decrypter to the aggressive mode ? Also I ran DVD InfoPro Read test on the disk I just watched and it also showed up read errors, But when I just watched the movie there were no problems, Played perfectly.
@ofield. Know the feeling bud, I have screwed up more Discs with labels and then tried for hours to recover them. Sometime YES, and then sometimes NOT! Try this: In Decrypter go to Tools -> Settings Then set the following: on the General Tab: Options – Removal Method – Aggressive File Mode Tab: Options – Remove PUO’s (IFO and VOB) ISO Read Mode Tab: Options – Remove PUO’s (IFO and VOB) CSS Tab: CSS Cracking Mehod: Brute Force -> IO Key Exchange On Failure – Yes I/O Tab: Options – Ignore read errors. Set Decrypter as above and then try in both your DVD-ROM drive and also in your Burner. Sometimes a Burner can read a labeled disc better than a ROM drive. Also be sure to Rip in the File Mode. As it reads the files you can tell by watching the right window if it completes it or not. If it gets stuck on one, just make a note of it and skip it. After you have ripped all you can, change the disk to the other drive and rip again. But this time only Highlight the files that were skipped on the first rip. You can do this by holding down the ctrl key and clicking on the files that you skipped one at a time. Then rip it to the same folder that you used for the first rip and you’ll be adding to the list of files that you already have. Sometimes you have to go through this procedure several times before you’re successful. Just keep changing the disc back and forth to the opposite drive and try again. If your lucky you will end up with all the files in a folder and you can BURN IT! I have written on the wall above my computer “ NEVER USE A DAMNED PAPER LABEL!!!!!!!!” Lots of luck with your recovery… Edit: for those that use paper labels and say they cause no problems: Some drives will play disc with labels but most won't, most DVD Players won't but a few will, most PS2's will but a few won't. In my case, I was labeling Memorex Disc. You wonder why my wife don't want me in the kitchen?
ofield when 2old told me about the labels that screwed 75 of my movies i was going to through them out but i tried taking the labels off and most of them worked. take the disk and put it in front of a small heater, let the label heat up a little and peel the label off then try and see if it plays if it does you can most likely copy it, it is worth a try. 2old really helped me out with the labels they are the worst. he made me get a printer that prints right to the disk and it is the best thing i did. 2old know he's stuff
2old i tried to do a movie today with dvd decrypter i made a folder on my desk top named movies, i ran decrypter and the movie was saved in the folder on the desk top. when i opened the folder in shrink the folder was empty but when i open it on the desk top the movie is in there. would you know why this would happen?
no good 2old, that wont work either the movie is there but wont open in shrink. i can even play from the folder.
I don't know Bud, have you got another folder on your HD named "Movie" and maybe it's looking at the wrong one?
NEWS FLASH! Here's the answer timberlou. Shrink will not look on your desktop for a file... Just drag and drop the file to your HD and it will find it.......
i put the movie everywhere and it just wont find it. i must have done something wrong. i am going to stay with anydvd and clone it is so much easier. hey 2old can i put clone and anydvd on more then 1 computer or do i need to buy for each one?
