Laptop using wireless browsing fine, but pc wired to same router can't load many sites

I'm running into a problem I've never seen before. I'm currently using my laptop and am able to browse just fine, but for some reason my pc is randomly unable to load certain sites. I get an error saying the webpage is not available, and that it might be temporarily down or moved to a new web address. At first I thought it may just be a problem with the site itself, but then I tried a few sites I know shouldn't be having issues such as CNN, and got the same error message. What could cause such a problem?

 

I would first update your av and scan. then scan with a rootkit scanner.
then scan with spybot, adaware, and spyware blaster.

Then If you find infections.

go to bleepingcomputer.com and navigate to *removed* and post there.

this place does not seem to give any usable information regarding anything computer related.
