Hi there. I'm having a problem with my laptop. It's an acer aspire. When I power up nothing comes up on the screen. I took the hard drive out and put it in another computer to see if it worked and it did. so it's not the hard drive. Nothing but a black screen and a fan running. Can anyone help...suggestions are very welcome. Thank you.

Maybe try and swap the ram out with known good ram

Other than that it sounds like something fried on the board and your best bet is an RMA if its under warranty.

See what others give as advice tho.

hum i once had this prob {hopefully u have warranty} its most likely that something blow out on the laptop. one thing we know is the the fan turns on so its running..it may be that your screen fried but u should wait and c wat others feel. sorry if this is no help best bet take it to a store and have them take a look at it if worst comes to worst
