Can anyone help me with a problem my granddaughter have with her laptop (advent)
The power light comes on when start button is pressed and the fan is running, this however stops after about 30 seconds.
Computer will not boot. I've checked and cleaned the ram clips, I also changed the start up battery. Could the problem be a faulty motherboard or the cpu unit, any suggestions outside of using a lump hammer

has it,by any chance, been dropped or bumped? if not im thinking ddp is right.if so i would lean towards the hard drive being bad.
