can anyone here tell me which brand makes 19 inch screens, provides a cd tray play and/or burner, usb ports for a mouse and/or keyboaed, vga in and out for a larger screen if a 19 inch screen is not available, and if a wifi adapter is built in. this is for someone else she is not tech savvy. I need something that is is easy for her to use. her desktop is win 7. a new one would probably be win 10. would it make sense to use my win 7 iso cd to install that? if yes is win 10 replaces or does both appear? if yes does a selection screen appear asking which OS she wishes to use? can she select one or the other? any advice welcome.

I think you would find it difficult to find a laptop with a 19" screen, but you can still get one with a 17" screen. And with HDMI out you can easily connect it to a 26"/32" TV in 1920 X 1080. Hell add a mouse and keyboard and it's a desktop at home and a laptop on the go. I have a 9 year old laptop hooked by HDMI to a 32" LED back lit TV to play cycling workout videos and it works great. Some laptops still have Optical drives.

You won't be able to install Windows 7 on a new PC because it won't work with a lot of newer hardware, but you can install software that will make Windows 10 work and look like Win 7. I've been using Stardock for a few years now and for $5 it's done what I wanted it to do.
