no dodgy boxes will work once they have been changed over to N3 all channels on MMDS will be gone

Cable people can take there cable out of box and put direct into tv and get roughtly 20 channels mmds customers do not have that option unfortunitly

no you will not get the irish 4 fta you get RTE 1 as FTA not the other 3

if you are on cable you get 20 bbc utv rte 1/2 tv3 tv4 and some of the others NO movies or sport living bravo or any of them

That makes sense to me, think I'll just use Old Sky box and get the free to Air on my Sat dish. Need to get a damn sky remote to use on the box.
The MMDS aerial and power supply is of no use now is it, might aswel unplug power supply!

 

keep an eye on here as new MMDs boxs possibly in the pipeline, no time line yet, but keep watching

 

so keep your power supply in a safe place or take out a min sub until something comes up for the mmds which hopefully will be real soon as they say watch this space

 

Assuming it will be a new box using internet and card sharing, I might be better getting a DVB-s instead of DVB-t and forget all about MMDS. Was good while it lasted and got more than its monies worth.
Is it easy to have all the free to air channels on a SKY box together or do you have to thrawl through all the channels to find the free ones? Just remembered I also have an old silvercrest FTA sat decoder but it also is painful to go through the channels.

 

just create a favs section and add yer chans to it on the sky box

 

you cant unless you have cable in your area as the boxes on MMDS chorus do not work on DVB-C only DVB-T so no cable no dvb-c box sorry

you will not get the irish channels FTA on a sky box either as they are not FTA on their system

 

There are a few people using Dreambox 500T's using c/s method for N3 but only the few that had the Boxkey and Rsa

 

lets see how long that last now after they are fully N3

thats the idea there not after spending €€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€€ just to leave them on you have all had ample notice about this happening so its nothing new you all knew dublin has been gone since aug 2009 so you have had a further 10mts extra out of your boxes so you have got a great saving on your cable

 

he he wait till they all start asking the same questions over and over about fixes updates ect.ect..

Hi all N3 just started here in Athlone yesterday Lucky football season is over just wonderin if ye could help me.I have basic package and 15mb with pc. had a starview 4 was great up until yesterday. Have read the different threads and looked up sites relating to this on net but just a small bit confused. Athlone is on 8675 so i think i read some were that Starview 6 wont work in this area if its on that. would i be better with a dreambox or i just seen Technomate which looks good but dont no much about sat receivers have old sky sat dish and all cables still there so dont no if this will work with these boxes or will i have to buy a sports viewing card for these boxes to. just a small bit confused need a bit of steering in right direction cheers
