it might actually be an idea to have a thread about movies, since we obviously watch a shitload :D

    fav recent films:

AVP: (i know loads of peeps didnt like it but i thought it was cool)
i [heart] huckabees: kinda surreal and cool
shaolin soccer: great martial arts movie and pretty funny
twins effect: odd chinese lunacy and some cool fighting
    punisher: just for that guillotine
    old boy: korean madness!
bad boy bubby: ok its ancient but hardly anyone has ever seen this, its never even been released on DVD!
interstate 60: ok so not new but anyone outside of the US SHOULD BUY THIS ON IMPORT! awesome movie!

    anyway, i digress!

I've seen White Noise. Its ok. not the greatest. If you expect it to be scary. "Dont". Nothing special.

"The Notebook" was exceptional, but then again, I like anything James Garner does. :)

My wife and I watch movies together, and both of us are saps. lol We recently celebrated our 35th anniversary, so I think that for me to be a sap, it is just guilt by association. :)

    Happy belated anninversary Bruce :)

I've seen Sin City in the theater twice now. It's one of the greatest, most stylistic and brutal movies I've ever seen. I bought the comics years back when they were first issued and have been a avid fan of the series since day one so I was apprehensive whether they could capture the tone of the comics in a film but they exceeded my wildest expectations. This is due to the fact that one director, Robert Rodriguez, is a fan of the comic and the other director, Frank Miller, wrote and illustrated the comics. They also passed on drawing up their own storyboards in favor of using the actual comics as the storyboards which was a brilliant move since the comics were so spectacular to begin with.

looks a bit 'crouching tiger' to me... not a bad film but WAY too much wirework (which wasnt very well done)

will give it a look for tho :)

Belated congratulations on your 35th anniversary Bruce. My lovely bride and I will celebrate #38 in December. It helps to pick the right one to start with. Don't know what I would do without her.
