Been wondering this for a while and checked out Circuit City and other stores. Usually I've seen DVD playback on LCD TV's in the store and to be honest the picture looks better on my regular 27" non HDTV set. Haven't seen DVD playback on a plasma but its supposed to have a more 'filmlike' quality to it.

I've also been wondering which is better for LCDs. The Sony Bravia XBR @40" or the Sharp Aquos 37" or 45"

I didn't see anything that I haven't seen before except a banner ad for a new SXRD. Man, if they make these in 37-42 inches, put me on the pre-order list. Sure LCoS makes best use of large screens but I haven't seen any TV before the 60" SXRD from SONY. It looks better than the Pioneer ELITE which is $10,000.
