okay, im wanting to buy a cheaper lcd tv for my bedroom. mainly to huck up to my pc and play video games and watch blue ray movies.

i have 2 TVs in mind from my local computer hardware store.

    TV 1: AOC LCD HDTV 32 L32W551T

    TV 2: HANNSPREE 32" LCD/TV, XV32,

both TVS are the same price, however there specs differ.

TV 1 has a response time of 6ms and contrast ratio 1200:1. however it only supports up too 720p with a max resolution of 1366 x 768 and 16.5 million colours.

TV 2 has a response time of 8ms and only a contrast ration of 750:1 however it supports up to 1080i with a max resolution of 1366 x 768 and 16.7 million colours.

my question is, should i go with TV 2 which has the poorer spec but can handle 1080i or should i go with TV 1 which has a decent spec but only supports 720p?

also does blue ray support both 1080P and 720P? and if so, if i play the dvd in 1080p mode will the TVs still play the disk but only in 720p?

opinons are much appreaciated, need a little help before i go out and make a purchase. thanks.

well to tell the truth 720p looks better to me has more color and isnt 1080i like 540p....i found on my tv 720p looks way better then 1080i i notice a alot more color/detail dont know why u want 1080i...i heard ppl say 1080i/720p looks different on some tv 's so i'd say go with the first one if but a name brand would be better if money isnt the issue.....good luck with ur purchase
