Have a Z710 ideapad - 15" screen work with spreadsheets and play DVD's occasionally when away.
Machine was expensive and came with 2 yr guarantee just before expiry dvd player refused to play more than 1/2 of DVD.
Sent back to lenovo for repair - got it back and a week later battery died - sent back again .... about 2 months downtime!
just under a year later dvd player giving same problem and message coming up - Unauthorised battery - buy replacement button helpfully attached (the battery was their replacement).
Got onto Lenovo who sent me an app (to sort the battery issue - battery optimiser or something) which they say would possibly sort the DVD issue to - so it would seem both are software issues. Afraid it hasn't - battery not recognised and will not charge at all DVD player stops.
Anyone else had this problem .... this will be the last Lenovo I buy !!
