    Gotta love the Irish!!!!!

What is it with Irish jokes???

The priest in a small Irish village loved his chickens that he kept in the coop behind the church.
One Sunday morning before mass, he went to feed the birds and discovered that the cock was missing. He knew about the cock fights in the village, so he decided to question his parishioners in church.

During mass, he asked his congregation, "Has anybody got a cock?" All the men stood up.
"No, no, that wasn't what I meant. Has anybody seen a cock?" All the women stood up.
"No, no, that wasn't what I meant either. Has anybody seen a cock that doesn't belong to them?" Half the women stood up!

"No, no, no, that wasn't what I meant. What I really really mean is, Has anybody seen MY cock?"
Sixteen altar boys, two priests and a goat stood up

Theres nothign wrong with being curious is there?

Well, ive read many arguments that smoking marijuana kills brain cells...but im not sure what to believe? It would make sense for thegovernments to create propoganda to prevent the legalisation of something that would make them lose millions in taxes as it is easily grown...

    something else,

Ban alcohol then? People do that.

Marijuana is only psychologically addictive, not physically, so it has no real grab on you at all any more than chocolate does.

    "ooo i really want somechocolate"

Not physically addicted (okay okay no smart asses start going on about endorphines, its just an example :p), but you want it. Sorta similar.

I HAVE A BITCH,I SURE WOULD READ THIS

Windows Genuine Advantage suffers worldwide outage, problems galore

    By Ken Fisher | Published: August 25, 2007 - 11:44AM CT

Late last night we started receiving reports from readers experiencing problems with Windows Genuine Advantage authentication. Users of both Windows XP and Windows Vista were writing to say that they could not validate their installations using WGA, and one user even said that his installation was invalidated by the service.
    Related Stories

We contacted our sources at Microsoft, who told us off the record that the company is aware of a major WGA server outage affecting users across the globe. The Windows Genuine Advantage support forum has exploded with complaints, as a result, and Phil Liu, WGA project manager, says that he won't sleep until the problem is fixed. Windows Vista and XP are affected, 32- and 64-bit versions.

Microsoft is telling users who are affected that they should "try again" later, with some support techs telling readers that Microsoft is aiming to have a fix in place by Tuesday, August 28. That would mean the outage will last more than three days, given that it started last night (and may have started earlier; we're hearing reports of some users running into this earlier in the week, on limited bases).

Reader Aaron Woolf tells us he was unable to validate patches for installation on a developer's copy of Vista pulled from MSDN. He writes, "My legitimate MSDN-acquired Vista Ultimate, which has been running, activated and validated for several months, now fails WGA." Others have reported similar difficulties.

    How does this affect you?

If you use Windows, do your best to avoid anything that requires a ping to WGA. That means you should stay away from patches and add-ons until the coast is clear. WGA will not reach out across the Internet and deactivate your copy of Windows, but you should avoid talking to a WGA server for any reason.

For those of you doing installations and upgrades this weekend, we recommend that you avoid activation at this time. Remember that you can run Windows legally for 30 days without activating.

If you attempt a validation and it fails, your install may be marked as non-genuine, which could lead to several annoyances. First things first, do not reboot a Windows machine that has been marked as non-genuine. Once you do so, you will lose functionality and the Aero interface. It would be best to wait until this problem has been resolved.

    The cause

Right now we don't have official word on a cause, but one source with familiarity with WGA tells us that the issue may be caused by updates to the service that were required after Microsoft expanded the number of activations keys available for Windows XP. However, the sense we get from Phil Liu is that Microsoft is pretty much in the dark right now.

    More as this develops...

@billyboy ... "psychologically" addictive can still be very potent. Take gambling addiction: it destroyed my cousin Joe's family; he'd been married for some 25 years (or so); Joe and Bev went to one of these Indian (as is native american) gambling casinos and, with her, all it took was once. She lied, stole, forged checks and did anything you could think of to keep it up. Joey did everything possible to help her but all to no avail; she financially destroyed the family and left Joe in enormous debt; he finally had to get a divorce. After all those years in a good marriage, it all came to an end and Beverly was, in no way, a "weak" person. It was all really sad. Now I'm no shrink and certainly cannot speculate "why" save to say that it did happen and it was very said; if it is "endorphins" then they're very potent.

My two bitches:I had a couple of friend over last night and they helped me move my computer to a different spot because it just took up too much space where it was ... and I hate it here! Secondly, my apartment smells like a bar room ... smoke and beer. I'd put a fan in the window to clear the air but it's 102 degrees out there (39 celcius). Maybe I should have rented a car and gone out of the city where its a cooler 96.

Well guys, wish me luck! They did an MRI of my neck as they do every year for preventive reasons. The MRI report said that there was a marked increase in cervical stenosis and cervical "osteophytes". I've got to go to a neurosurgeon on Monday for an evaluation and I really fear the words "cervical foraminotomy". I had one in the past and it was one really nasty piece of surgery ... the most painful of all the surgery that came before it. My primary care doctor said that the surgery usually isn't all that bad if done preventively and that the reason it was so nasty last time was because they let the condition get way too bad before they operated on it. Well, I guess I'm entirely too worried and shouldn't put myself through this until I know for sure come Monday. Easier said than done though.

@aabbccdd ... thanks for the good wishes buddy! It's probably nothing (knock on wood). There are usually "warning signs" when things are about to take a turn for the worse and there aren't any so I'm probably fine.
