@BillyBob, for a more recent picture of Gerry, go to your local postoffice and look on the clipboard hanging on the wall. Here in North Carolina he is second or third from the top.
    For the rest of you,
Now you all know why we don't post our mugs here 'cuz Ireland has a third degree black belt in Photoshop.

    Haha! :)

So, my bitch of the night:

I am not the lucky seller of this truck.

    The bids are:

    Starting: $22,500
    Second: $1,000,000
    Third: $1,000,000
Forth: $1,000,100 (by same bidder as Second bid)

How would you like to make ~$960,000 selling a single car? lol

    Peace

So when neither bidder pays, will he still have been lucky?

Not very lucky, the vehicle is back up for bid and the $32,000 current winning bid is by a 0 bidder. Auctions such as this should require bidders with a positive record and others by seller approval only. That helps weed out the players who like to mess up auctions.

With minor mechanical skills a person could do the same work and hire a body shop to do any finish work needed and could save $10000 or so.

meh on the truck; looked more blingricetastic than anything...trucks should have a classy, yet rugged look to them. that thing, to me, looked like a glorified 8 mpg pain in the ass to other drivers.

Personally I think its a stupid truck, I just thought I would point it out because of the crazy (yet pointless) bid.

Unless its a RAM SRT-10 personally I don't think the term "Street" and "Truck" should belong anywhere near each other.

EDIT (by Pop_Smith): Anyway, my bitch of the day; so I was talking to my mom as I hope to go and do some Kung Fu tonight but my mom freaked out and said "But it looks like you might get hurt" and didn't want me to go.

However, about an hour later, she said "You should talk to Nick (a friend of mine who got me into Kung Fu) and see if he will take Kung Fu with you at the community college in the spring".

What the heck? First she does want me to do Kung Fu as it would be good for me, then she doesn't as I "might get hurt" then she wants me to take it because a friend of mine is?

Yet another reason why I don't have a girlfriend, if I can't understand my own mother how the heck am I going to understand some chick I meet and try to really get to know? lol

    Peace

First thing you need to learn is that you will never understand women. Women don't understand men either. Just when you think you've got them figured, you find you don't.

Kung Fu, judo, karate, or any marshal arts classes I've seen don't allow beginners to spar with someone that will hurt them. Besides not discouraging the student, it's also good business. ;) If you're not physically punished, you're more likely to return. Unless you take an accidental fall, mom has nothing to fear. Full contact competition is where the pain is felt. Many dojos, clubs, or whatever, allow advancement without full contact sparring. Minimum age and time in ranks are a factor for advancement which usually depends on successfully exhibiting good technique before judges.

i second the woman thing. The Auslander (haha at you, jack) doesn't understand his girl at all about half the time...and the other half of the time, she's asleep. :p

    @PacMan777,

Its true, maybe I should explain this to my mom. :) My friend, who got me into marshal arts, told me that they don't have you spar until you really look ready and even then they ask you who you would like to spar with so your not going to get paired with someone that is going to be bored with you (or just annihilate you).

The only time it might be kind of scary to do is when, from what I remember, you are getting your Blue Sash. If I remember correctly my friend said you have to spar with your Sensei (ok, Kung Fu is Chinese so your "Si Fu" or "Si Mo").

One thing that's bugging me, my friend is already a decent amount ahead of me to where I would have to go four days a week for a month just to get to where he is.
The reason this sucks is because my mom doesn't want me to join unless my friend does and with him already ahead i'm gonna be playing catch up for a while.

However, I just found out his parents are going to pay half his car insurance (instead of him paying the whole thing like he originally thought) so maybe, if I'm lucky, by December or so he should be able to join up at the club.

    Peace

You'll learn the basics first so you can advance. Stretching, stances and meditation are what you start off with. When you progress to the level of sparring with a master, it isn't to get you hurt, but for the master to see firsthand what your abilities are. At the lower levels a novice has no chance against a black belt. Ethics and at least some history of martial arts should be taught along with styles and technique.

If the decision is your mother's, have her talk with the instructor. He will be more knowledgable than a student and be able to answer her questions. Hopefully she'll lose the fear and realize true martial arts aren't what she's used to watching in the movies. Nowadays movie productions do a lot on wires which would be impossible in the real world. They're showing thrills and in real life the study is a lot of work, mental and physical. Believe it or not, it's about more than fighting, even more so in the traditional training.

    OJ Simpson ‘hotel assault’ tape

p2pnet news | Crime:- It’s another online exposure.

Only this time, it isn’t Vannessa Hudgens in the nude.

Instead, it’s an audio tape of OJ Simpson, jailed without bail after being arrested for his alleged part in an armed robbery.

He’s charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm.

If he’s convicted, he could be jailed for up to 35 years.

    Dead man walking: literally

p2pnet news | Off Topic:- Carlos Camejo, 33, officially declared dead, woke up in a morgue just as medical examiners started their autopsy on him with an incision to his face.

Camejo, from Venezuelan, ended up there after a highway accident.

The autopsy team realised something was wrong when he started bleeding, says Reuters.

“I woke up because the pain was unbearable,” local newspaper El Universal, quoted in the story, has him saying.

    The ultimate horror story.

@PacMan777, with the martial arts bit, I think I am going to talk to my mom about it again today.

When I got my mom in there the other day the nice lady that spoke with my mom offered to have Si Gung Smith the founder of the club; he's also the Kung Fu teacher over at the local community college, speak with my mom probably because he could help reduce or eliminate her fear of me getting injured while talking classes over there. Maybe if I go over there again I will have him (or another teacher) talk with my mom and see if that helps my situation. :)

Anyway, no real complaints so far today. Maybe later, I'll post if I run into something. ;-P

    Peace

The early stages of martial arts is about preparation, which entails conditioning, both physical and mental. In my family there's elementary school students going to karate class on a regular basis. None have been hurt and rarely does one fall and get bruised. You're right to get your mother to discuss her fears with an instructor. Like I said, it's not the extreme fighting she sees on the movies. Once she learns what it is, she might want to join. ;) The exercise is good for most anyone. Good luck.

If you are not over 50, this is what you have to look forward to.

    1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

    2. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first

    3. No one expects you to run — anywhere.

    4. People call at 9pm and ask, "Did I wake you????"

    5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

    6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

    7. Things you buy now won't wear out.

    8. You can eat dinner at 4 pm.

    9. You can live without sex but not your glasses.

    10. You get into heated arguments about pension plans.

    11. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

    12. You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the room.

    13. You sing along with elevator music.

    14. Your eyes won't get much worse.

    15. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

    16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the National Weather Service.

    17. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.

18 Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.

    19. You can't remember who sent you this list

And you notice these are all in Black Print for your convenience.
