For those that posted with serious leg problems: Just saw a movie
that is very positive and a true story. It was called the Peaceful
Warrior. It has nothing to do with war. I think it might brighten
your day a little.
The main ingredient for overcoming an impossible leg problem is a
positive attitude. I know because I spent 5 years in a wheelchair.
The doctors said I would never stand again-let alone walk. All the
physical therapists said impossible. I may never dance again (although I haven't given up on that yet), but I am walking. Don't
give up. Miracles are 99% determination.

You're as bad as me! Garmoon's home state has just outlawed "cockfights" which always makes me giggle like an adolescent. As I like to paint and draw, I always wanted draw my own seriously freudian vision of a "cockfight". I haven't done any of that since my early bathroom walls days LOL!

 

Gerry1, you sometimes scare me. This wasn't soemthing you guys did while in the 'corps after duty hours, was it? I've heard rumours of the squids playing with their torpedos, but the Marines? Isn't anything sacred anymore?

Indeed, I have "given up" on her. I won't ignore her but I am not gonna try and "pursue" her anymore. I don't really care at the moment for girls anyway, if I do find one then I will see what goes down but I don't really care if I find one or not at the moment hahaha.

But see I disagree with you, that be yourself bullsh*t gets you no where, if nobody likes who you really are, change. When was the last time you saw a 90 year old man say: "Nobody liked who I was, but I stayed true to myself and lived a loner and am about to die a loner. But I am happy because I have lived and stayed true to myself?" Never, thats when. And the reason? If nobody likes you, you change. I am perfectly happy pretending, hell, I convince myself sometimes. And all that crap about not being truly happy, is again, just crap. Because I am truly happy, why? Because I changed myself and I have an ample amount of (girl)freinds.

I don't really care if I have to pretend I'm a computer illiterate player to 'get some.' Because it's damn worth it in the end.

-Who defines who 'you' are. How do you difine 'yourself'. If I say, I have to be true to myself. Who says who 'myself' is? I think we make up our own minds about who we are. If we want to be something and we strive to be that, that is who we are. What is the meaning of 'self'? Who defines 'self'? We define ourselfs.

I think GM is just saying to be true to your values. There's nothing wrong with adapting to fit in, if that's what you want and it doesn't go against your core beliefs. I think he was just saying don't be a phony. To some degree we all adapt to live and prosper in society. The trick is remaining someone you like.
