Thanks.....just a thought, I read a post the other day, someone inquiring what the post values were and why he/she was still a noob with 49 posts. I guess we know why now...LOL

With CliffsNotes instead of the novel, an apt analogy would be reading a map instead of taking the journey.

New case. I took the 3.4GHz Northwood I'd used to upgrade my old Dell and built a new PC. The Asus board and ATI Radeon graphics are new as well. I reused the good drives I'd updated the Dell with and put some less expensive ones in it. I went with the better Cas 2 memory with the new system and put the original Cas 3 in the DELL. Now I have a new system I can tweak the settings on and the DELL as a backup. I got a bad power supply, so the replacement is still in transit. I'm making do with a low output PSU (170W), which means I can't OC very much till I get the new PSU (550W). I'm running at about 5% OC at 3.57GHz. All that from is that a new case. LOL

@brobear,Not bad at all,I just bought a new case as well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811195030 it should arrive on Thursday.I plan on transferring my AMD setup into it and putting the Dell(system #1 in sig.)into the raidmax case that the amd resides in now.Hopefully I can still use the Dell/Intel board at least till I can afford a new one for the Prescott.

@brobear...Beowulf and Julius Caesar in your sig; I'm impressed! I had to translate all of Julius Caesar and Cicero from the latin ... that sure did come in handy later in life LOL!

LOL "A fronte praecipitium a tergo lupi" sort of describes my position if I had to deal with any Latin nowadays. What little I could muster was lost in the past. "Ab asino lanam" covers my current abilities to translate Latin. ;)

The Grendel quote is from a more recent work written from the perspective of the earth-rim walker. It is a derivative of Beowulf.

@brobear...Wool from an ass. A precipice ahead of you and the wolves behind! Latin colloquialisms ... had to look them up LOL! Guess I'm in the same boat...haven't seen that stuff in nearly 40 years!

Modern translations are "impossible" and "between a rock and a hard place" respectively. ;) I can't pull Latin up from memory, but thought those 2 quotes are applicable to my plight. LOL

    Hi Brobear,
Hey you need to take that off your sig - the part about your rig being old, LoL!
Those Radeon X850 Pro were top o' the line, real big-$$ stuff with GDDR3 memory, excellent performance :^)
I bet it's great. Runs good?
Since we're aloud to ramble in here it seems, allow me to post an awesome site for:
[bold]Radeon Catalyst Control Center (using MS Net v/1.1) config & setup info[/bold]
    http://www.tweakguides.com/
...everything you ever wanted to know about the latest ATi burdens on your system.
I like this guy Koroush Ghazi, very bright guy, and all his advice is very good.
Trust me, I know (I hold many certifications) and this guy actually helped me, with some good info about the latest CCC/Net situation.
Good news! I got ~80MB of memory back after applying his suggestions. And his advice about the MS Net was spot-on too; my rig starts much faster now.

Kids! They're wild in some of our forums, eh?
They won't read, can't write, and often give our Addicts and Mods 'sauce' as old Sam Gamgee used to say...

I'm only 15 and I guarantee you that I'm not one of those people. As you can see, I'm also a senior member and some of these people piss me off too. I think we should hack the site and ban all of them! jk lol!

So this is the "bitch" forum?
why bitch? doesn't do no good. Status? who needs it. I'm a member (been called a memberhead a lot) 3+ years after joining. SO. this place is the best educational site I've found. A.D. people have fixed my computer over the web before they had computer forums, it was only dvd discussion. Couldn't get manufacturer help but ya'll figuered it out. I swear when i first started coming here everyone but me was a "kid".(under 25). I still don't know as much as the rest of you on computers but got to many kids to keep track of instead. It'll calm down always does. back to lurkin'
