    Hi

Am having a problem, I wanted to get rid of the region codes on my LG DVD-ROM, it is a HL-DT-ST, GDR-8163B. I found the dangerous brother's site and found a firmware upgrade for the drive with the OL-23 upgrade. The problem is now although Win XP finds the drive it wont read ANY media, I have tried flashing it again but to no avail.

Can you re-install the original frimware or is there any other way of making it work, I have tried moving the drives around, moving jumpers, but still no luck.

    Thanks

    Rob

Try flashing back to the original firmware. That site, when used improperly, can trash a burner. I have read more than one post, where the user has flashed improperly, and that was all she wrote for the burner.
