Lg GSA 2166D external drive door won't open

My dvd burner is stuck the drive won't open at all. Tried using paperclip to open that didn't work can't get it open and I have a cd inside it. I disconnected it from the computer and started to disassembly it but I could not get to the area that contains the cd I don't see how to remove it . I was able to get to the circuit board but that don't help me. It is a lightscribe burner and I was printing an image on the disc it was finished but could not eject it. Any help would be appreciated. I also tried to it using IMG Burn software & thru My Computer.

 

Well guys disregard. I gave the drive a good shake and was able to open it with a paperclip.

 

Glad to hear that. Did you also properly dispose of said burner?

 

No I connected it back to the computer and have been using it. i guess the cd was really off the tray inside. My daughter had been using the drive in a vertical position so from now on it will be horizontal. So what it takes up more desk space but it's working.

 

Ahhh, that's good. You failed to mention that it was an external burner, in your first post.
