    gents

just bought a cheeky little LG LDA-730 dvd player with a view to watching divx stuff on it.

menus etc. fine - but tends to 'hang' half way through watching various things - audio sometimes continues, other times the whole thing just freezes.

annoyingly enough, the same disc works absolutely fine on a philips 642 player.

any thoughts - does it require firmware upgrade, or just a shite LG piece of kit.
(don't buy their microwaves by the way!)

unfortunately can't take it back to future shop - binned the box and packaging...

    thanks in advance

I recently bought the same player from Futureshop. I have the LDA-530 so I figured this would be great as well. I haven't had any problems with it at all so far. I've even tried disks I burned 3 years ago and they still work fine. If I run into any problems i'll be sure to let you know.

    cheers mate

yeah, this one still hangs occasionally, could be couple of dodgy burns

on another note - any ideas on the code to make it region free?
have some region 2 dvds, and this machine is currently region 1.

    (bought from futureshop too)

    thanks in advance
