ok ive just had an idea asuming the card is just a ati radeon x1950 pro 512mb and all coneted 3d do is load there own bios on to that card would i just be able to flash the card with the original bios ati made when that card was made thus making the card in to an ati x1950 pro 512mb
no not saying the card fualty at all as all of these card dont work i was just thinking that the whole problem might be resoved with changing the bios with original one from ati
You could try, it certainly would be safe. Best of luck. I still suggesting returning it to Connect3D.
Your warranty to Connect3D will be void if you do, and I doubt it'll solve the problem, especially since a lot of card manufacturers don't even change the firmware from the original ATI specification.
I didn't know they void the warranty for that. In that case I would certainly not recommend it. No use screwing up more sh*t. Save your self the hassle and exchange it out. If that doesn't work then try flashing the BIOS.
i dont know maby im just being optermistic just want to get it working. i dont think conect 3d will take it back as i have changed the cooler to a arctic cooler accelero X2.
They won't if you leave the AC cooler on it. Put the stock one back and they may be a bit more forgiving.
look as though is going to be retured then not got a clue what to say to the im relly bad at stuff like this.
sorry to say you are wrong the HD3850 obliterate the 7950GT and the X1950XTX http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3151&p=9 so it will run circles around an x1950pro
That's pretty good performance. They should have put it up against a 7900 GTX, I would have wanted to see that.
ok fair enough. i also suspect the HD3850 will be better than all current gen top/mid and all of last gen top/mid in power consumption and heat.
The HD3850's power consumption is tiny considering how fast it is. Despite the fact the 8800GT places it firmly midrange now, it's an amazing product, as is the HD3870.
