locking/unlocking HDD

    Hey everyone. I know someone asked a similar question before. I cannot get my XBOX to start up. I receive a service error 05. I found out that the HDD is unlocked and must be locked. I have no access to my XBOX but are you able to use a computer to lock/unlock a HDD?

    Do you have a any info on the drive? The HDD key? How did you mod it? More info would be helpfu. Reply and I'll try to help.

    same exact problem. error 5. i installed an aladdin advance live mod (soldered) and i have a pre-configured Enhanced Ide 7200rpm Hard Drive mdl: mdo1200-labw. supposedly the chip and hdd were already loaded. mod led is blue (as supposed to be) but hdd is not activating. do i need to lock/unlock this drive? is slayers even necessary?

    lock your hard drive with evox. You need to modify your evox.ini to do this. You will get the locking HDD option and that will allow you to boot to MS dashboard without the error. Here is a copy of my evox.ini that allows you to do this:
