Hello all, I've ploughed through the threads and fried my head. So simple question;- My standalone dvd recorder Philips 880 can record long play and extended play allowing me to record up to 320 mins on a single 4.3 dvd. Can I buy a dvd recorder for my pc that will do the same? If not is the alternative to squidge up the ripped files using one of the discussed re-encoders. And if my standalone dvd recorder can do it how come the pc recorders can't? (ok, so maybe you can't answer the last bit!:))

No, I wouldnt imaging so. The dvd recorders you get can be burned to, they don't record anything streaming.
