lookin for a reader

    I'm searching around for a dvd-rom drive taht can read cds and dvds at high speeds with low errors. ive mostly heard that the liteon ltd-166s is good, but what else is out there? c'mon people, spit it out!

    As far as I'm concerned there isn't another ROM out there that compares to the 166S/167T. They'll tear through anything you stuff into them and are an absolute steal at $30 :)

    Thanks, that pretty much sums it up. heh. 167T? I never heard of that. Guess I'll google it to find more info.

    The 167T is basically a "newer" version of the 166S although I've no idea what's different if anything :)

    I did some research and I guess the newer 167T has the RAM capability taken out.
