Hi everyone, I am in videography business and I need to make copies of the original ones frequently. I am presently using software that does it for me but I have been getting complaints about the quality that’s cloned. Do you people know about any better software that can do the same thing without comprising on the quality? Thanks in advance!!!
Piracy? Lets hope not. Software doesn't vary much.Stand alone players can be picky on certain burn engines. 1)Too much compression-Blockiness/blurry look during playback, maybe even sound out of sequence:keep compression to a minimum or upgrad to dual layer. There's programs to help clarify them if you're doing some major compression. Keep compression to a minimum if possible. 2)Format of blank media: Plus/Dash. Booktype the plus format to dvd-rom to reduce the no disc errors on picky stand alone players. These no disc error displays can also say: Illegal disc/Dirty disc/Wrong region/Wrong format. #3 will help clarify it. Not all blank media is alike. 3) Quality booktyping dvd-rw drive/s: Not all burners are equal. There's some total crap burners-HP, and some quality booktyping capable drives- Plextor,Benq-if you can locate,LG,Liteon. And some other quality drives that may be able to booktype: NEC,Pioneer, sony,Samsung. Just about any brand not mentioned,I'd be leary of them. Crap burners = lots of coasters, low stand alone compatability rate, less firmware updates to be able to keep up with the newer/faster media. 4) Burn speed: Burn half the rates speed. If you got a quality drive, then you can up it. Crap drive, burn 4x max. 5) Quality media: Should have been listed 1st. This is most critical. Again, stand alone players can have fits with crap media. Pixellation, freezing, jumping, and no disc error. Burn crap media slow, quality media slightly faster. Stick with Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Sony media is looking pretty decent and easily found on sale locally. Be cautious of the rest-Maxell,Memosux,HP,TDK,Philips,and most store brand named media except for maybe the Office Depot brand-but not ativa. 6) Multitasking: It's advised to leave pc alone during any of the dvd backup process, and shutdown everything that is not needed. 7) Sticker labels: Also another leading culprit to stand alone player. Avoid the labels and use sharpie. If you desire a great looking cover, then upgrade to an Inkjet printable printer like the Epson-USA or Canon-Europe.Some of the newest inkjet printable discs have better quality than the originals. 8)Keep the harddrive/s defragged regularly. The main thing I stress,is Quality. Quality drives and quality blank media!
I don’t need to make copies if DVD so I wouldn’t have known the solution but my friend uses http://www.i'manidiot.com edited by ddp that helps him copy the DVD with the quality intact. He is been using It for a while now and had no problems up to date. So I would advice you to go for this as it is tried and tested. Cheers!!!
