lol... they are all very good, it depends on how much you want to spend, and if your going to overclock.

What is the most you want to spend on a mobo?

I've read quite a few reviews on the gigabyte board, it's a very nice overclocker, not sure about the asus board though.
But i don't think you can go wrong with either board.

with out really trying i got the e6320 up to 2.56GHz on the P5K-SE (the one that i first listed) I could have got way more, but there was no point. The motherboard allows for up to 800Mhz FSB

    2.56 ?

Thats not bad. I think im just going to go with what you originally put. That and go with the atx 900 case. I cant pass up that giant fan.. WITH the blue lights.. Except it needs more. Like 5 more..

If I had got after market cooling it could have been much better

Overclocking is not too hard, and if you get that board i know its bios well, so i can really help you out. Also make sure to get 800MHz RAM (thats what i listed) as it helps overclocking out alot

Did you get to 2.87 on the stock cooler? Or have you bought something else now? That'd be an impressive overclock if you had.

no... its got a zalman 9500LED, core temps has not been over 37c at full load (using othros, and super pi mod) (t-jun is 85c). Oh... and its now at 2.9GHz. (keep in mind i am in a 17-20c room)

as for my other overclock (the 2.54GHz one) that was stock cooling, and I was still way under the highest temp possible for the C2D's I would think i could have got around 2.75Ghz on that CPU.

BTW sam, I am building a computer for a friend very soon, I am wondering if you would recommend getting the new C2Ds with the 1333MHz FSB? or just stick with something like the E6300

I've not really looked into them much, but the 800mhz and 1066mhz versions haven't got any worse, and you can make 3.4Ghz out of an E4300 easily enough, and they're so cheap!

    I'm running a Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHZ 1333FSB, with a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R board, with a xp-90 thermalright cooler.
What do you think I can safetly get this up to?

Probably at least 3.2Ghz I'd say. Try it and see.

Well now at least one computer part is going to have to go on hold..

I just purchased a new digital camera, case, 1 gig stick, and a pack of 40 batteries for a little under 110$

    Oh the wonders of amazon..

(Ok i lied the camera is slightly used..)

Its a Sony Cybershot DSCW30 6MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom. Its only 50$ and its just for parties coming up and stuff. *of which those are going to be setting me back at least another 200$*

    Slightly new update..

The Graphics card you posted is now out of stock :( Is there any other one in that price range that you would recommend? (120$)

Im also going with the Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail. Which someone posted can OC easily up to 3.2 GHz which would be pretty dang nice That and bumped it up to a 3.6 with minimal heat issues with stock cooling. (The cpu itself is only 20$ more)

Except i went with the 130$ case and now im up at the 900$ mark. Time to hit up the grandparents!

What would be like the next step above that be? Or is that card just fine for what im doing.

Something with DX10? If that matters..

    *double edit*

Last update for the night probably. I just purchased the case with my old paycheck (still havent cashed in todays) Once thats in ill go ahead and buy some more stuff. Not the best route to take but its going to be a good month before i can get everything.

Hoping to get some nice overclocking out of the CPU as well so ill be looking for some BIOS help ;)

Well i lied yet another update. Im going to also need a wireless adapter now.. I forgot of course my room isnt where the router is and most likely my dorm in the future isnt going to have one readily available.

Should i go with a PCI adapter or a USB one?

    PCI- LINKSYS WMP54G IEEE 802.11b/g, PCI 2.2 and 2.3 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter Up to 54Mbps Data Rates WEP, WPA, CCX 2.0 - Retail

USB - LINKSYS WUSB54G IEEE 802.11b/g USB 1.1/2.0 Wireless-G Adapter Up to 54Mbps Data Rates WEP Encryption, WPA Security, CCX 2.0 - Retail

    i like linksys :(
