    Hi looking for advice,
Was trying to duel boot windows XP with Windows 10, so I shrank my secondary HDD with acronics disk director (as I was unable to shrink master drive).
After doing so research I found out that XP should be installed first without GPT partition, so I reverted the drive back.
Now I am missing some files and folder, but the HDD drive space is still being took up for it.

    I have tried so far
    Scan disk
    Defrag
    Re indexing the drive
Resetting the permissions ( got some files back)
Deleting the recycle bin (renamed instead)
Just in the middle of drive recovery.

Just wounding if their is any other way of getting my files back to how I had them originally.

Been searching but can’t seem to find what am after

    Thanks in advance

The drive was gpt & you converted it to mbr yes .If that's the case you need a partitioner to convert it back to what it was originally . Something like minitool or easeus may do it in the free versions or in the cd they let you create for recovery .If not a torrent may have what you need
