low budget motherboard,cpu,and case

    Is it an old Pentium 3 PC? If so you definitely can't use its RAM.

    yeah kinda figure that burnig dvds is just freakin slw now lol before got old pc stolen 3.2 ghz 2 gigs ram ect now stuck for now with gateway p3 sigh took 1 to 2 hrs for dvds now take 5 to6 hrs or more

    Burning DVDs shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as it's got a decent DVD burner in it. Then again, I've never tried to make DVDs using anything that slow so maybe it does have an impact.
