low sound in xvid playback

    Please help!!!
    Every movie that i play in xvid format, the sound is very low and i have to yurn the volume all the way up to hear it. I downloaded the ac3 and xvid codecs but i still doesnt work, please help.

    I'm not too sure myself on how to make it louder but basically the audio stream on those files is made for a much better sound system than the average PC and thats why its so low playing back!

    An idea however would be to go to the software section of this site and grab the Ac3Filters and play it in windows media player. Run AC3Filter Config and u have a lot of options on playback of the files. I have never tried this out to increase the volume so if it works out well, reply and let me know :)
