Wrote what? if you mean my reference to DVDbacks guide in my first post perhaps try re-reading what i put: If you're referring to another post, could you please link to it ^_^
This is the problem. When you paste the i.e Codejunkies US Games into my codelist then go to local_codelists the custom codelist you just created isnt there... only visible when you open cheat code editor and by which if you do the only way to get the custom codelist is to save it as a .dat file which is only for R4s not M3 Ds Real. If i'm wrong in any way please post back and tell me what im doing wrong. But i think im doing everything correctly so if u you edit your guide you could save some people real frustration in the future.
I guess you must be doing something wrong then, I have literally just installed the program and followed the steps myself and it worked fine. Haven't tried putting them on my M3 but I can try that too if you want. (sorry if the picture appears too large, i rushed it so didn't bother resizing)
hmm well its a good thing that it works. Maybe because im using a vista OS. Im going to try it on my other computer which is XP, ill report back. Also thanks for the friendly help and fast replys. Much appreciated. I apologize if i was rude about your guide, i was mistaken.
7734: Are you trimming your ROMs? Try a non-trimmed copy for Download Play if so. I was using the M3 and my Kingston 2GB microSD suddenly stopped working - as in, permanantly. I can't format it or even get any device in my house to even acknowledge that it exists. This seems a rather odd thing to have happen and I can't tell if the M3 did it or not. Are there other reports of this? I have a kludge solution to the GBA problem. When you save there are two new files, a .0 and a .is0 or something like that. When you copy a new game over make a copy of those two files from a different game's save and rename them. For example, if you have a GoldenSun.0 and .is0 and you just copied over a FireEmblem.gba, copy the GoldenSun save files and rename them to FireEmblem.0 and .is0. This will cause your saves to work first try. I don't think I like this cart.
I've just started using a M3 Real and used your guide to set it up. I couldn't get the games to appear when I used the M3 menu so I removed them from the NDS folder and deleted that folder then put them straight onto the root directory and made the system folder hidden. Now my games appear in a list as soon as I switch my DS on which is better. Is this method OK or will it cause problems? The only irritation I have is that any new games appear at the end of the list and having to click on the name to reorder them each time is a pain. Is there any way to make them appear alphabetically every time the unit is switched on?
Looks like I have a similar problem to some others here... I have 2 DS Lites, one 12 months old, one a month old. Bought a M3 Real + Rumble Pack and it works flawlessly in the new DS but is simply not recognised in the older one. Nothing obviously wrong with the older one - runs all genuine games no problem, just won't see the the M3. Tried inserting dozens of times, cleaned the contacts, shimmed it with a plectrum(!) to push it against the contacts. No go. Looks like the M3 doesn't work well with older DS's...? ChrisH
OK I solved this problem thanks to someone on MaxConsole who posted on it. The issue is caused by mis-aligment of the tiny circuit board in the M3 casing which causes a bad connection with the pins in the DS slot. Only have to move the board slightly to make it work. The solution is to gently prise open the case and ream out the holes a bit, pushing the circuit board over to one side. When it's re-assembled the sticky label (which you can see on the outside of casing) actually sticks to a chip and holds the PCB in place. It's more obvious when you actually open the thing and look (but take care when opening the case as that same sticky label prevents it coming apart easily - peel the 2 halves apart slowly). Anyway, problem solved. There is a slight difference in how the DS slots are manufactured so the older DS does not guide the pins as well as the newer versions. The M3 case has no guides for the pins at all (unlike the DS game cards you buy) so hopefully that will be fixed in new versions of the M3. ChrisH
Hi all! Me and my friends just bought three m3 real with 2gb sandisk microsd memories. The problem is only one of them works! The one that does work boots on every ds (at least the three we had to test it on) with everyone of the three sandisk memories we also bought. The ones that doesnt work displays the m3 logo when powered on, then freezes with a white screen. The one that does work doesnt do it well. In the game zelda phantom hourglass, it freezes every time I pick up the seachart in that temple. It also freezes (in the same way, game and sound hangs then goes to black screen) in super mario 64 ds when I pick up the first star. Weve tried the papertrick, formatting with either fat16 or fat32, using different firmware/loader (?). I think we ended up running firmware System V2.9(Europe/USA) found here: http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSR.html I sent a mail to the retailer about replacing the carts, but I cant wrap my head around that all three of the carts were faulty! We must be doing something wrong (considering I cant seem to find anyone on the net with the same problem), no manufacturer has that faulty-rate.
Magpie74: i tried... went to the site you gave and did not find the m3 real . i found other thing similar in its look as the m3 real. are these other types as good as an m3 real ?? did you buy anb m3 real from them ? it is also in euro currency how much does that translate to american ?? i would like the 1 slot for the GBA games as well as the NDS games, do you have a recommended card from m3 real or from the sites cards?
Yes, seems that Gadget-asia are out of stock. Try this site: http://www.realhotstuff.com/adapter-real-c-36_64.html
great guide mr. hanky you da man im trying to get the nintendo browser to work with the m3 real which is a great cart by the way i have the 591 euro browser which i heard can be used with the patcher from the HandHeldSources page that u link to anyways the browser starts fine and then says power down and insert the ram that i got with the browser and i have the gba expansion ram inserted already thanks for any help in advanced
Well my new problem is this the ARDS romworks in m3simply or r4 but for it to work on m3real you need a specific patch...can anybody send it me or tell me where to get it. If anyone asks this rom is used to fix real ards's and mine is broke and I want to fix it either for MPH which multiplayer is too buggy on m3 real and/or give it to a freind wqho doesn't have it.
Magpie74 what is the rumble pack used for???? i noticed on the link that the best deal is to buy the gba expansion , RUMBLE PACK, and the m3 real for $60. seperatly it would cost more than 60 for the m3 real and the gba pack.
Hi everyone, I bought a M3 Real just after xmas and have had issues with it ever since getting it. Most of the time the M3 menu will not boot at all leaving the M3 DS Real logo bottom right and nothing more. Occassionally it does work allowing a game to be played and then freeze at some point, and sometimes it will start to load and then freeze. I used to have a M3 Simply and used the same MicroSD with no issue, so don't think its that. I have tried reformatting the card into FAT, and i still get the issues. I have tried downgrading from v2.9 to v2.8 and v2.7. Same issue. I think i got it from http://www.modchip-store.co.uk but as I have been so busy I can't remember! Please help as I'm getting really annoyed with this Real! M3 Real (Black) SanDisk 2GB MicroSD (FAT32) System V2.9
Rumple82, Well a lot of people have had problems. I suggest looking at the connectors on the M3R (there are photos in previous posts I think)but these can be damaged and often can be repaired by straightening them out.
I can't find any pictures as you mention, but have opened up my M3 Real and taken a few pics so people might offer an opinion:
