To lilm3gurl I think that the only way to put skins on is to put all the files into a skin1,2,3 or 4 folder and then put that into the SYSTEM folder. make sure you unzip the skins.
To asusfood In order to activate cheats at the rom options screen there should be a few settings, one is choose cheat file(since you have your cheats loaded you dont need this) and cheat switch, turn cheat switch on or to the button key(select+left is on select+right is off I think) then press right pick you codes and press start or press left and scroll to start and press A.

    hi

anyway downloaded the system folder from the site, loaded onto card
downloaded a couple of games and loaded them into new nds folder on card

    card into m3dsreal
    m3dsreal into ds lite
can see only 3 icons on screen, not the game one
    any ideas please
the games are on the card when you browse media, but i cant get them to work
i am guessing something is wrong with the format, but they are .nds files

Sounds to me like you bought an M3Simply or downloaded M3Simply system files, try out the M3Simply system files and see if that helps you run the games.

hi. i have a ds lite. now i have been reading about this m3 device for awhile but now i was wondering, which one is better??? M3, M3Simply, or M3Real??? If anything all i want to do is play GBA & NDS on my Ds Lite but the best M3 package would be great to have. Now i heard about these gbaexpansions but on the tutorial i read that all i have to do is just create a folder titled GBA like the NDS. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

I also would like to have the most convenient and big size SDHC card. Now would this be a great one to buy??? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211245

Another question that i have is that my DS Lite is USA and i was reading through this whole thread and many posted issues about chinese version of m3dsreal, etc. I would like know the best package of m3 available i can get that supports my ds lite and for the needs i posted above. thank you very much.

So the best choice is definitely the GBAExpansion pak as it has more functions than the others, If you don't plan on using it for GBA games or Opera browser then get a Rumble Pak and if you just want the basics then get the normal one BUT be warned if you are talking about the chinese M3R then that runs on a different firmware and doesn't support english unless you fix it which requires some soldering skill.

    yes that sounds right

hi. thanks for the reply. What i am wondering though is if i should get M3 DS Real or simply or just M3??? Is M3 Real the best choice with most features or something like that??

In my opinion yes the M3Real is the best option, It has more features and compatability with games, however the PDA is awful in my opinion and although I love the media player a few people dissagree and prefer moonshell but the touchscreen is oorly calibrated for M3Real.

In the short term M3 or M3simply are better(M3Simply is better than M3 no matter how you see it I think) but once you know your way around the M3Real it will be much better as it has a few kinks to sort out but those will be dealt with in time and are no real hassle and easy to avoid and solve so in the long term you will not regret the M3Real as before those are different bundles of the M3Real I have the GBAExpansion pak and it is definitely worth the money.

If you ever have an issue with an M3Real I suggest you email me, I have made some very good contributions to this thread.

Well No actually the M3Real was faster than any other card (as far as I know) to fix final fantasy, which after second dungeon would turn out to be a demo and you would start again, This never happened on the M3Real(I played it when it came out and got past the second dungeon) and about a week later I found that other cards were having trouble. The main flaw is that skins are tricky to get working but as long as you put a 1px border around the top screen (not even noticable) then it's as easy as any other skin. And some people have trouble saving GBA games but thats also been found a way to save using the real time save built into the M3Real. the other problem is that one or two homebrew aren't designed for M3Real and have problems or won't work, for example moonshell has a poor touchscreen but I use the built in media player and this too is a situation in which I have only ever came across a homebrew or two that aren't even worth downloading like a small game or something, any homebrew wirth having works, oh and don't get your hopes up about slow-mo mode as so far it just pauses a game and unpauses it but the only game it works on to my knowledge is 'mario and sonic at the olympic games' In short it won't affect gameplay and I've had better gameplay experience than what I would have done with R4 for example so don't worry about a commercial game not working.
Even if a game is released that doesn't work on the M3Real I can bet that the next update to the software fixes it.

I had an R4, which I sold to a friend to get an M3real with a 4 gig card because it was a good deal. Couple of issues with the M3, please help..

1st is that my games don't appear in alphabetical order, any ideas how I can change this? I tried putting the micro sd into my computer and manually setting the folder to arrange items by name and on the computer they are in alphabetical order but when I load up the M3 and go to browse the games they aren't.

2nd thing, is there any way to change the way I browse for games to something more similar to how the r4 is? Like with the m3 you see four games at a time, whereas with the r4 you have the text list of games and I just found it a lot faster and easier to navigate, however if I could get them in alphabetical order it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

I guess optimally would be if there was a way to run the r4 menus on the m3real.

Any suggestions for either of those issues is greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.

Jerzmob I forgot to mention that the highest capacity cards are 8gb but can be hard to find, a 4gb should suffice.

Bluntsly when I got to this forum I read each and every post to make sure I was up to date, I said this a while back that at the game select menu there are two things above the name column it reads name and above the column with size of the file it reads size by touching either of these with a stylus the M3Real will rearrange the list in reverse alphabetical or capacity order by touching the icon again it arranges them in correct order, either alphabetical or capacity order is obviously dependant on wether you pressed size or name. Both can be found easily as they are at the top with a small arrow next to them(providing the skin maker included this file as something other than transparent) this arrow indicates either disorder, reverse, or correct order.

The other more time consuming but more permanent option(the latter lasts till the M3Real is turned off whereas this one lasts 'till you place a new game on the card) is to copy all games to PC, sort by name, delete from SD, copy all games back on and the M3Real will placve them on alphabetically and this will be displayed alphabetically takes about 10-15 minutes depending on the amount of games.

To anybody who has read this now or before I am warning you to not delete saves unless they were backed up with the games this is for obvious reasons.

Thanks alot, I'll try that again. It was actually the first thing I tried but I guess I wasn't precise enought with the stylus lol.

hey i have recently bought a m3 real with a sandisk 2gb and its been constantly having problems. First problem is that when i load the m3 it stays in the black screen and logo on the bottom right hand corner. And if i manage to open up a game i can only play for about 5 min before it freezes. I tried reformating from FAT to FAT32 but that didnt help anything. PLZ respond asap and give me advices on what im suppose to do PLZ and TY!

well first of all I suggest make sure theres only one game in there( to prevent freezes because it's full and check the connections of the card(seriously a lot of people have posted on how to do this so I won't go into the whys and wheres) if that fails send it back and request a new one.

Thanks for the guide. I'm having trouble with saved games. I understand the saves are saved to .0 files. I can see these files when I have the micro card in my computer. However, I cannot see them in the GM manager. All my game files show, but none of the .0 files.

    Thanks for any help.

The GM Manager only shows compatable files
NDS files in the nds section, GBA, NES, SNES, PC in the gba sections, Meia files in the media-extend application and in MYCard it will show any of the files that can be run in the gba or nds sections.

For a full DS file view download dragonmind's home program application DSOrganise a must have for any flash card owner.
