The M3DSR creates its own save files, and these are have the extension .sav

    hope that helps

Thanks. I didn't notice any .sav files. Where does it save them?

Save files are .0 , however I think in the newest firmwares they are now .sav as they are preparing to switch over to the Sakura filesystem.

I have been very busy recently with coursework so have not kept up to date with the firmwares, hopefully I should have some free time again in a couple of weeks ^_^

Read my last post I told you the M3R only displays things it can run, Download DSOrganise and use the file browser to find them... the save files are created into the same folder the game was in. Seriously I told you before to get DSOrganise.

I think what would be more helpful is if you state why you need the save files.

The Gamemanager (i assume is what you mean by GM Manager) is only really meant for the old slot-2 M3 range and is not needed for the M3 Real or M3 Simply.

If all you need to do is backup/restore save files you can simply copy them from/to the card in Windows, saves will be stored in the same folder as the game (normally the 'NDS' folder)

Your response leads me to believe I have totally misinterpreted the "save" function. I just want to be able to pick up where I left off when I resume a game. Like when playing a golf game. I want to be able to stop part way through a round, and then later resume that round.

I'm sorry if I have confused everyone. This is all very new to me.

I think what you want is Real Time Save (allows you to save whenever you want, not just when the game normally allows you to save), this unfortunately is not available for DS games on the M3 Real yet, but will hopefully be included in a future firmware update.

At the moment you can save games as you would with the retail game, but that is all.

He knows what the save format is until adamski came along to say it was .sav which is wrong, aswell as terrible grammar.

He wants to know why he cannot see the .0 file when he is browsing his games the answer is simple, The M3Real only shows .nds files so any other file put in will not show but the save files are there you just cannot see them. ( just for the record the types of files it shows are .nds, .gba, .pc, .snes, .nes, .gb these are all shown as they are compatable with the M3Real and all have save files created in the same folder as they are)

I've just got my M3 Real back, and i can see what he meant by GM Manager now, so yes unacquain is correct about the filetypes it displays.

I updated the firmware and I was correct about the new firmware now changing the save files to .sav in preparation for the new Sakura system. Which also means adamski64 is correct about the save file extension (as everyone should always be running the latest firmware ;-) lol)

Well I am running old firmware as all the updates didn't apply to me (mostly fixes of games) but how does it go about backing up saves to slot one or two?(default -> 1, default -> 2, 1 -> default etc.)

The backup slots are still named .1 and .2, I have no idea what the point is changing the .0 to .sav unless it is maybe a different format of save and that just helps distinguish it, but i dunno, i haven't really bothered looking into it.

I have a few questions that I can’t seem to figure out

    1. How do you convert and watch movies

I can’t figure out the steps to convert movies. Also, when I go to the media section, it freezes with a pink screen.

Can I play movies through moonshell if I add the new version?

    2. How do you read books on the DS

is this done with comic book DS or is there another program
also where do you get e-books?

    3. I have DSOrganize on my DS but I can’t browse the web. When I press A on the web browsing icon, nothing happens.

    thanks for the help

cactusj00: In order to convert movie files for media-extend(the built in application) you use the encoder from the moonshell version09 which I can link you to afterwards.
An EBook is a .txt file and can be made by copying and pasting anything into notepad and saving it to the M3Real as a .txt
EBooks can be viewed in media extend under the EBook option.
If it freezes at a pink screen then if your M3Real is almost full clear up some space otherwise replace the system folder on the M3Real.
    Yes Moonshell will work.
Here is the moonshell09 http://www.ziddu.com/download.php?uid=bauenZmlbbGbnOKnaKqhkZSoZaqdnZam8 now browse the files until you find a file called DPGENC.EXE and from here on it's pretty straightforward and I feel no need to explain it.

asusfood: To change a .0 into a .sav just rename it(if you cannot see the .0 file extension go into control panel and find the folder options and set to show file extensions.

http://www.ziddu.com/download.php?uid=Z66dl5atbLCfluKnZaqhkZSoYqqgmJWo5 this is a file full of metroid manga.
