What are all the things I need to buy to mod my NDSL? http://www.realhotstuff.com/real-rumble-expansion-p-258.html This pacakage includes the M3 DS Real, Rubmle Pack, and GBA Expansion Pack. So if I want to mod my DS and still play GBA games, is this all I need?
It's not necessarily modding , because you aren't doing anything to the hardware. And yes you will be able to play downloaded gba games if you buy anything that says GBA Expansion in it.
@dsplusser I agree with sc945 because there is no 'modifying' the DS(thats also why it isn't permanent) but there are three different packages. M3 Rumble pak - contains a standard rumble pak which... rumbles when you get shot or something... pretty obvious. M3 GBA Expansion pak - this has the rumble pak and a GBA expansion pak the gba expansion will let you play GBA games and anything that needs RAM for example the nintendo opera browser( this is just a ram pak but it is a significantly higher size than nintendo's or the next pak I talk about) M3 RumbleRAM pak this only contains the ram pak and it won't play GBA games, It will rumble and you can play the internet browser on your DS this is the cheap and lazy version if you can't be bothered to swap paks between metroid hunters and pokemon green. The reason a gba game needs ram is because the way a DS runs it is through slot-2 (there is no way of getting it to run through slot-1) so to play it you need something in slot-2, the M3Real then puts the game(and anything else like RTS function and the program for M3Real to work) onto the expansion pak, you play it, the next time you play your M3Real the save data is copied onto your M3R and all data is taken off the expansion(as far as I know Im no expert). the RAM is much smaller and connot handle a large GBA game(it can handle one or two if they are tiny)
Is there a way to get TWEWY(The World Ends With You) to work on my M3Real I have tried to turn off all extra options and booted it in safe mode(multi card play [Y]) but I can not get it to work. Other than wait for a system update how can I get the rom to work? Currently 3.6X
What's your problem? If it is freezing on the cutscene then just rapidly open and close your ds during the cutscene every second.
Yeah that's my problem, I have been through the opening level about five times already I will try your idea. It didn't work and even closed the screen is on and making that irritating sound of skipping music.
Are you sure you are opening and closing it. It worked for everybody I've seen, Including me. What rom do you have? Europe, or United States. Mines Europe.
Hi all, I have an M3 Real myself and don't have any issues but 2 friends at work asked if I could get them one and put games on for them (which I did and wish I hadn't now) It works at first but then after playing a few games and turning off/on to choose a diff game the DS just hangs with the word 'loading' (loading on mine norm flashes up for a sec then goes to game list) So because I was the one who got hold of the card for them I have to take home, format and put games back on, only for it to last a day or so before problem happens again One is using a 6gb mem card, the other a 4gb mem card, both of which are sandisk, neither cards are completely full so to leave space for the save files I have hunted around the Internet but can't seem to find any answer, any ideas what could be causing this problem? can i just play gba games without the gba expansion thing. or do i need the gba expansion also if there is a way without the expansion let me know.
cruzdavid: You can download a GBA emulator but they are hard to find(search for goomba GBA emulator) it is much easier to just get the expansion. James7877: Faulty M3Real I suggest you sort it out with where you bought it from many people have had to get replacements. sc945:Yes mine is also europe and I am opening and closing it but when I fold my DS (top screen right above bottom screen when it usually goes blank and the green light flashes on off too indicate sleep mode) it just keeps beeping no matter how many times I fold and open.
No problem, It isn't just you who has had to get a replacement(sending them the faulty one should ensure you get a working replacement of no extra cost). At sc945 I tried your tactic again and it worked, my error was that I waited for it to freeze up before opening and closing again, I did as you said leading up to the freeze and as you said it worked. It is a shame my DS top screen is badly broken T_T (I can not read anything that is said by the characters) Who figured this out?
You could , buy new ds screens online very cheap. I got a touch screen for about $15, and I think the top screens are about the same or even cheaper. Oh and I'm happy you got it to work.
Yeah I looked it up and its about £11(pretty much $15) but at the moment theres no money in the bank T_T I'll have to wait about a month to get £11 in the bank ( EMA is only £10 and I was ill this week so I wont get paid)
Hey does anybody know how to get download play to work. Everytime I try my friends ds freezes. I tried Mario Kart, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Brother in Arms.
For metroid prime hunters you cannot use soft-reset and you must start with download play (Y) ,cheats may be a problem too but I don't think so. same for mario kart.
ok so im totally new to the world of DS stuff, mainly cause im always too busy to pay much attention to it (it must get very lonely...)but now i have some free time (study leave)and am focusing on this problem - my dad recently got me a M3 DS Real rumble pak for my DS . . . and on following mr_hanky's guide on page 1 of this forum found that i could still not get games to work. i found the game files on 'www.nintendo-ds-roms.com' and downloaded some but even after formatting and putting the unzipped files into the NDS folder i made one the micro SD the games still don't load and i have no idea what i'm doing wrong any help with this would be greatly very muchly appreciated! baxteriz
google for NDash roms or go to H**P://www.nds-roms.com Mak sure the files are unzipped or unrared and place them in the NDS folder on your root.
baxteriz: are you also putting on the system folder? you need that too for it to work (so you should have 2 folders on the card, the system folder and a folder named NDS which contains your unzipped games)
