DLDI is basically used to tell the homebrew how to read and write files to your MicroSD card. DLDI has only been around for a small priod of time, but it has drasticaly improved the ease of using and programming homebrew.

The guide you linked to i think is quite easy to follow, so perhaps if you could tell me what you don't understand I can help (otherwise i'll end up basically re-typing what you have linked me to)

cool, thanks, I'll try pointing some things out ;)

1: First of all, this is where to get the DLDI (http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/). All I have to do on that page is download the DLDI that matches "R4(DS) - Revolution for DS
    M3 Simply compatible", right?

2: From that same site, I have to scroll down and download a patching software. How do I know which one to get? I bet it's one of the three "win"'s since I have windows xp, but I'm not sure which.

If I could get this sorted out first, I think I'll be able to get it all poppin by myself, but still, there may be more things I didn't understand that I've just forgotten now.. :)

    1. Yes thats the site, and yes that is the DLDI you need.
    2. Your probably best with the Win32 GUI patcher, this is the grapical user interface version, which is the one the screenshots are of on the xbox forums.

Job done, thanks again, again :) It actually wasn't too complicated when I just sat down and focused on it.

I've read about a DSOrganizer 2.7 alpha though, but I can't find it. Do you know where I can get it? Also, if I find it, should I just overwrite all the 2.6 folders/files and patch the new .nds?

To use DSorganize 2.7 Alpha (and Alpha 2 & 3) you need DSorganize 2.61 on your card first, you then just drag over the new DSorganize files and chose Yes to everything asking for confirmation to overwrite.

You then need to patch the new .nds, and if you havn't done so for your current version you should also patch "exec_stub.bin" which is found in the DSorganize/RESOURCES/ folder, this file is what allows you to load .nds files from within DSorganize, so obviouly if you don't plan on doing that it is not needed.

I can't remember where i got downloaded my 2.7 Alpha from, but i'm sure you could find it via google.

dope, I'll take a look at it. So is there any danger in just patching any homebrew game/app I find? patching something that doesn't need a patch can't ruin the file somehow, can it?

Worst case scenario wuld be yo having to re-dowload the file, but even then there is next t no chance of anything going wrong, you try to patch something that can't be patched and it will give you an error message, if you try to patch an aready patched file, it will simply replace the patch.

Whenever I use it i always get:

Server is not down (when is google ever down)
    I did not misspell http://www.google.com
I m right next to my router whic works perfectly fine with the DS on other WIFI apps.

Also I noticed my url to google is redirected to .co.uk which means it is connecting at some stage.

Yeah it's the same message I get.. Well, it's only a matter of time before it'll work.

oh, also, what's the coolest homebrew apps and games (except of DSOrganize)? I read about an MSN messenger app..?

Thank you for pointing out the irregularities in the Danish language file; the script I am using for the directory listing uses the browser's default language setting and displays the appropriate translation.

I have uploaded the version 1.04b (yes, it's a beta - some websites, including the M3 Team's, have it named like a final) firmware and have included the latest modified Moonshell (working soft reset - still version 1.6) for the M3DSS.

If anyone has any issues accessing any section of or file on my website, please contact via PM or the e-mail listed on the front page.

    Enjoy! :)

PLease any help would be great. I've tried FAT 32 and FAT16 formatting. I've tried different firmware with and without moonshell. I've no idea why i still just get white screens when i try and load a rom. They work on my old m3 mini which my girlfriend now has. Any other ideas people. GEtting very peeved with this now. Could it just be faulty?

The memory seems fine within the PC et al?

Your not using patched roms are you?

You need to have clean, non patched roms, if yo have previously patched them for use on the M3 Mini they will not work on the Simply.

I am unable to play any videos. I thought that I could just play the .AVI/.MPEG/etc. files by drag and drop. Whenever I try to start it up, I am told that the extension is not supported. Do I need to convert the files to another format before playing? I am using moonshell 1.6. Is there anything else that I need to do?

You need to convert the videos to .dpg format for them to work. I use BatchDPG to convert videos, it should be pretty easy to find on google.

Does DS Simply work on the DS fat? My brother has it for his DS Lite. Just wonder if it works on the DS Fat.

Yes, it works on all version of the DS / DS Lite. I am pretty sure it also works on the IQue DS and Lite too.
