Hey Tripton. I had the same issue. 'cept I am using a Kingston 1GB Japan MicroSD card. I tried every firmware version from 1.0 up to 1.04. If I formatted the card as FAT32, it would briefly flash the "Loading..." screen then go to black and freeze. If I formatted it as FAT, it would bring up the "Loading..." screen and freeze there. I was using a SanDisk multi-card reader to connect the card to my computer. It doesn't have a MicroSD slot, so I used the Kingston adapter that came with the card and was using the readers SD slot. Turns out this was the problem. I don't know if it was the reader itself, or the adapter, but something was amiss, even though Windows was verifying that the files got onto the card just fine. On a whim I tried using the USB MicroSD dongle that came with the M3 Simply... and everything started working. I think I'll go try and find a higher quality MicroSD reader... but I definitely won't be going back to this multi-card reader.
OK I bought two of these, one of them worked fine for a while, and now gets hung on "Loading..." I tried the same microSD card in the other M3, and it works fine there. Is there something I can do to fix the other one? crossposted to this thread, hoping to get someone who knows what's going on! http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/509500
hi, just got this. i was wondering do i have to buy a Sandisk MicroDS in particular? because i have a sony Micro M2 but that doesnt seem to fit. can someone helpe a brutha out? thanks
@baez The M2 is the micro form of the Memory Stick format, it is not the SD format and therfore not a MicroSD. You need to buy a MicroSD, any brand will work, however some have problems with the game Catlevania: Portrait of Ruin. There are compatibilty lists available on the internet. @tonidez The clock plugin is found in the PLUGIN directory of the Moonshell folder (SHELL OR MOONSHL) There are usually 3 files, all beginning with "clk_" replace these with what clock plugin you have downloaded etc.
ok cool, which is a good one to use with the best compatibility? im getting a sandisk at the moment..
If you download Moonshell it comes with quite a few, other than that I wouldn't know as I havn't bothered changing mine
@tonidez If you download Moonshell 1.71 with dpgtools, you'll find it usually comes with a folder called "misc", in here you should find a "ClockPlugin_CustomKit" folder that contains all you need and you can actually make your own ! @baez I have never had any problems using a SanDisk card, so you should be OK
just the other day i was trying to do download play with my friend useing the m3 ds simply and the download would finnish and then it would say the connection was terminated and my friends ds would freeze and he would have to restart the system
- Download (single card) has mixed success with m3ds simply. Download (multi-card), I have found works better. Eg, Animal Crossing multi-card, works every time no problem, but single card ones I ahve had many problems. As for your videos, they need to be DPG format to be played by the Moonshell media player, you'll find all the conversion tools in any download of "Moonshell with DPG tools". As for where they go, it doesn't really matter as you can navigate in Moonshell, however to keep thing tidy, I tend to use separate directories in the root called MUSIC, MOVIES etc..
i know im kinda asking alot of questions but is it usual for the micro sd in your m3 to go coruped and you have format and reload everything back into it???
I did have it happen one or two times, but not recently. Be careful not to overfill the card - I once filled one then it had no room to create the save files and crashed. Also, I don't know if it's the solution, but I always STOP my sd/usb adapter before removing from PC - I've corrupted usb memory stiks in the past by pulling them out without stopping them, so now I stop everything (using Safely Remove Hardware)
Hi. I have a question thats been bugging me.. is it possible 2 get the saves off my normal ds cards onto the m3 simply and vice-versa? its just ive finished quite a few games that i would like to have on the simply. what i was planning to do, was have my entire game library (and some others) on the one card. So.. is that (Normal DS Card Save --> M3 Simply & M3 Simply --> Normal DS Card) possible? I have an action replay Gba/Ds max, so i can backup my saves (except pokemon diamond. does anyone know how to backup that save?) in that way. is it possible to convert them from action replay format to .sav and vice versa? Also, do you need the DS browser extra memory thingymabob to use it? Thanks!
