If I buy the m3 simply from divineo.com, what will it come with? At both the divineo.cn (china) and modchipstore they say it comes with
    1x M3 Simply DS Cartridge
    1x Replacement white shell
    1x Micro SD Card Reader
1x Carry case with key chain
Does the divineo.com site ship the m3 simply with this items too?
    Thanks

Most likly yes, these items are included by the M3 team, so unless Divineo.com take them out fr some reason they will be included from there too.

Just a word of warning, I have heard many complaints about divineo.com with late deliveries, bad customer service etc. so you might want to consider buying from somewhere else, or from divineo.cn

    UPDATE
Have changed the disclaimer to give link to my M3 DS Simply guide - please ask any M3 DS Simply questions there.
    Changed latest firmware to V31
Added M3 Lite to the guide - completely forgot to do that months ago ¬_¬
Added microSD to guide as the M3 Lite uses this

not to be a stickler.. but are you allowed those affiliate links to divineo & modchip store?

^ from forum rules. Just double checking. I don't think it would apply since its not directly to a product or service but on the other hand its still an affiliate link :p

I'm honestly not sure, but I don't see how it harms anyone, they get the link to the homepage of both websites regardless of them being affilated or not.

If a mod feels they should not be there feel free to PM me and i'll edit them out, but as I said I don't see what harm they would cause.

    I don't think so.

But as you can see I am not a full mod, just for a part of the forum.

As I see it, affiliate tagged links in this case would be. First Mr_Hanky would need to be repesented as an affiliate of the site in question. Then the links could be construed as affiliate tagged links.

Also I forgot to mention in order for it to be a tagged link. It would need to be in the sig. So it is tagged to be seen with each post of the user.

Ok, I think I have everything firgured out now. What I want to get is actually for my GBA SP, but this M3 product sounds like it will work in a GBA SP http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-ds-m3proms

So if I get that, I will need a MiniSD Card, this one seems great http://meritline.stores.yahoo.net/ritek-150x-1gb-minisd.html . And a card reader to go with it.

So I put the MiniSD card in the card reader, drag and drop files onto either the root directory or another folder, eject the device and put the MiniSD card into the M3, then put that into the GBA SP and power on?

NO NO NO!!! Thats a Pro version, which lacks the only thing you want, GBA support. You need to get a 'Perfect' version of the M3 which includes the 32MB of RAM (needed for GBA support)

-Continue Reading When You Get a Perfect-

Althought the M3 is capable of playing GBA via drag and drop, it can only have one game on the card at a time (unless you don't plan to save), to be able to have more GBA games you need to copy the games to your MiniSD card using the gamemanager software, this patches the GBA games and allows them to save on the SD card.

That MiniSD card you have linked to will work perfectly.

Thanks Mr_hanky, I found your guide through google!

    Two quick question.

    1. Using the M3 manager to write classic games (NES) we cannot use the save state feature in pocketnes right?

    2. I use TWO miniSD cards. From what I understand saves get backed up when you once you turn back on you're DS/GBA. What happens if I play game X on mini SD card 1, turn the DS off and change to mini SD card 2 to play game Y. Will save for game X be transfered on card 2, will the save be lost?? I tried it and my save for game x ended up being corrupted :/

Ok I have my M3DSS (M3 DS Simply) and now I would like to play my GBA games again. I've been reading up on the M3 Lite and I've read a few things on it but I would like to get some answers before I decide to buy the M3Lite.

With the M3DSS I will not need to buy a passcard or any other thing for slot 1 to get the M3lite to work on my nds lite? Just when i get to the simply menu just select "boot slot 2"?

WIll I be able to use this on my GBA SP too? (asking since it has that long part on the cartrage)

Pretty easy to put more than just 1 game on the microSD card (Even when you have to mess with the rom so you can save when you have more than 1 game on the microSD card)?

1: I havn't played NES on my DS for a while, I use my PSP for that, I will test that when I get home.

2: You save will be corrupted as the save file is on the first SD card, your best option is probably to turn on the system again with the first SD card so the save is backed up, then turn it off and switch the cards, if the save still gets corrupted try copying the save file from the first SD card to the second SD card so it has something to back-up to, obviously you will still need to turn the system on with the first SD card so the save is updated on the correct card first.

havent got my hardware (r4+kingston1gig) yet, but im downloading some software now. i have to say thanks for all your guys' help, a remarkable site you run here. i have a two requests though.

    a) ds roms/old skool emus/moonshell and apps: where do i download all these? ive surfed around, i tried frozen roms but it comes up with german stuff when i try to dl. also what are the steps? just download and drag to the microSD? what about file converting and stuff (i do want to do movies and music) btw i just tried emuparadise and it seems to work nicely. is there no converting or anything after downloading?

    b) what about running things that arent made for the ds like nintendo 64 games etc.

i had a few more questions but its so much to know that i forget what i need. though i am good at computers and i think the r4 will be easy to use.

    a)
Emulators & Homebrew can be found here
    Moonshell here
DS ROMs you need to find yourself, or use Bittorrent.

Most emulators and homebrew now use DLDI, so must be patched to work. Here is the main DLDI webpage.
Moonshell comes with a setup.exe file which you use to get the correct setup on your device.
NDS ROMs usually need extracting from a .rar or .zip file (most people familiar to downloading anything formt he internet should be able to do this) then it is a simple case of drag and drop the game onto the MicroSD card (in the case of your R4 anyway).

    b)
There are a few emulators, but nothing near the power of the N64, from the top of my head I can think of NES and Wonderswan, but there is also growing support for SNES and Master System. there are probably more, but I don't use emulation on my DS.

This is covered in my guide at the begining of this thread, did you actually try reading it?

I am pretty sure this is also covered in the guide, though just in case it isn't, it is '.nds' format.
