    Hi

    Although i have the Automatic time update ticked, when i switch the box on the date shows 1st Jan 1970 and remains like that until i go to date/time settings and manually arrange the date/time!

    What can i do please?

    thank you.

    Do you have the m8 hardwired or wireless ? If it's hardwired can you see the "two computer screen" icon ? It might need a minute or two to update ?

    M8s is connected through Ethernet with wire but still does not update at all even after a long time.

    Haven't come across this problem so just guessing here , there may be an app on play store that could help sync the time ? Maybe try manually setting the time again but when you do untick the auto update and reboot the box if proper time is still there after reboot then tick the auto update ,was it always like this ? If it's only recently then did you install a new app that could cause this ?

    It was not like this when i got it a couple of months ago.
    I installed some add-ons and also Mobdro from the Playstore - that's all.

    Also untick your automatic and set your time and date then tick auto again see if that helps , as I say I did have that problem awhile back and tinkered around whit the settings and got it right by chance ......

    @paulie - i tried those too but nothing!

    The only thing that works is:

    i untick the auto box;
    i go to the year and change it from 1970 to 1971;
    back to auto box and tick it and voila the date/time reset themselves!

    But i can't keep doing this each and every time i switch on the box!!
