I've been using mac the ripper and popcorn and have had no problems. However a couple of movies I've tried recently wither get an error while using popcorn or appear to have copied find and in the middle find out that the movie stops playing and say's disc error. I am wondering if it because on the movies is fairly new and may have another level of copy protection on it? I'm not sure if I can list the movie name or not on the forum so PM me if anyone wants to know which movie I was trying to back up. any ideas?
I was using Mac the Ripper and Popcorn since about March of this year with no problems. Then about July or so I got a message that "the hard drive has detected a security breach" when I was coping a Region 3 DVD. Had successfully copied other region DVDs at that point. From then on, I started having problems burning DVDs to the point where it would not even burn an IDVD movie created with mac software. Apple finally changed my superdrive in October and all seems okay BUT I have not used mac the Ripper yet to copy any copy-protected/other region DVDs. I upgraded Popcorn and am wondering......should I re-install Mac the Ripper - just to be safe. is there a better way to do the re-install? Sorry for this question...but I always get confused...what shouold I dump before I re-install the program???? Your help is appreciated as Apple won't touch my question with a 10-foot pole!!
There is a new version of mac the ripper, but you need to donate to get it, since the author needs to money to contiune updating. Do a search and you'll find out how to get it. I am not a mac user, but this is what I have seen going on in the forums. Good luck.
yes... i agree. what does that even mean? i'm guessing u're talking about the link i posted.. that is the forum where you can find out where you need to donate to get the latest build of the ripper... next time.. a little more ellaboration on that would be nice.. just as [bold]dox1000[/bold] posted .......
