I have a top of the line G5 imac, the works - dvdonex, mac the ripper and toast. But my problem is i need to figure out how to burn downloaded dvds. I can get the rar files, but can not use Macrar (as it is not supported by mac OSX) any alternatives to decompressing the rar files? I tried using macpar, but it only creates .pnn files, which are no good. So after I finally get the rar files decompressed, how do I put the files into dvd format, with chapters and all??? any help is much appreciated
I don't know much about this rar malarky since I've never downloaded anything DVD size. I ususally rip DVDs from disks using the software you mentioned. Try using the search facility on this page and see what comes up under 'rar'. If you need a utility to work with rar files under OSX try looking in www.versiontracker.com. Failing that try searching the internet for "OSX rar decompressing" or something like that. Hope you find something.
done.. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17741 use that.. may be in bin cue folders.. at that point use... toast 6 to mount image.. extrac the mpegs.. the burn with toast.. the conversion using toast to dvd.. does take a while.. leave it be.. go find something else to do..
k, i followed that link and got rar expander, which works grat but how do I extract the mpegs from the bin/cue files?
toast 6 to mount image.. once its mounted... go under the "data folder" and pull out files.. i cant remember what the file is called.. the burn with toast.. the conversion using toast to dvd.. does take a while..
im sounded like an idiot here, but this is the first time im getting dvds and trying to brun them this way so...... in toast, I mount the disc image under data or under video? then how do I extract the mpegs? How does toast convert to mpeg...?
